so zuko's in an abusive relationship, and sokka is his neighbor.

and at first sokka's just shaken up by all the yelling he hears, but he's not sure what to do, because he doesnt know anything about their lives and getting in the middle of it might make things worse– not to mention calling the cops or something. but also, he's pretty sure his neighbors are breaking shit against the wall every two days which is. y'know. concerning

so one day he shows up to their doorstep with a bunch of sugar-explosion-marshmallow-chocolate-bomb cookies katara made, because oh my gosh he can't even go on with his day because of how much they're yelling. and he just. shoves the cookies in zuko's hands and rambles for a sec. and then he goes back to his apartment already beating himself up because what the fuck was that? but his neighbors dont fight again that day, so he takes it as a win.

and so sokka keeps hearing awful fights in their apartment, and he wants to do something but he doesn't know what, so he just. keeps giving them random baked goods katara makes. and that, without fail, ends up getting them to shut up for the day.

zuko's just. really confused about the whole thing. but hey, his shitty bf leaves every time sokka comes over to bring them sweet things, and zuko also happens to adore sweet things, so like. why the fuck not. he'll take the fucking cookies.

(cue to them becoming friends, and zuko being absolutely baffled at any and all shows of kindness no matter how small. cue to them getting closer, and zuko thinking sokka just wants to fuck him or something, bc why else would he keep bringing him fucking cookies every week? why does he start visiting zuko even when there's no yelling? and why the fuck does he insist on spending time with zuko and doing nice shit dor him? its all very confusing for him. just bear with him)
