The bill says that a "covered platform" - broadly defined as "anything on the internet a minor might use" which is literally the entire fucking internet- has a "duty" to protect minors from anything that might harm them, including "sexual exploitation" and other undefined terms

It also gives state attorneys general the ability to sue to enforce it.

So here's exactly what's gonna happen:

Wacko republicans, as they've been doing with increasing force this year and last, are going to sue any and every website in existence, saying that the mere existence of LGBT people online constitutes sexual abuse of minors. And websites are gonna be so afraid of not doing the most that they'll just axe all LGBT everything.

Like. Republicans have been calling all LGBT people groomers and child molesters for years. The lead Republican literally admitted this bill will be used to attack trans people.

This bill is BAD bad. I'm appalled that democrats are lining up behind what is clearly a republican Trojan horse to eradicate LGBT people from the entire internet.

One question you get a lot in the asexual community is "how young is too young to consider myself asexual?" You know, because asexuality is lack of sexual attraction. And many teens are invalidated in their asexuality like "You're too young to know you're asexual" or whatever.

See identifying as gay or straight as a teenager is fine because those identities aren't inherently about asexual attraction, so adults can pretend that these teenagers aren't out there having sex and talking about whom they're attracted to.

But as an asexual person, we're not allowed to validate asexuality in teens. We're seen as groomers for it. "But fae. Shouldn't adults be happy these kids aren't having sex?"

Yes. But a 16 year old identifying as asexual means all of the other 16 year olds are allosexual and therefore you're sexualizing all the other 16 year olds. According to them.

Let's just set aside the fact that these 16 year olds are experimenting with their sexuality. At some point as an asexual teenager you realize you're not like the other teenagers. There's something you're not getting about their experience.

Right now, I’m just looking for any money I can get to ease the load for bills, medical equipment, etc. My health is declining rapidly and trying to get art and crochet commissions have been difficult.

My correction isn't "aspec people can be normal" so much as "these preconceived notions have confused a lot of questioning aspec people"

Because I have a theory that there's a lot of people that are ace, aro, bi, or pan that just don't know it because of these preconceived notions.

I mean yes. Being a virgin isn't a bad thing and never experiencing romantic love is not a bad thing. Shoot. I'm a virgin. But how do I know that the only reason why you're not calling yourself asexual because sex is fucking amazing and you're really out there not experiencing sexual attraction but really loving sex?
