One lesson a Spirit Guide of mine had to sit down, hold my hand, and teach me was that cursing doesn't always make one feel good.
There was someone a while back who had been quite horrible to me-- from the moment I met them, to the day ways were parted.
I don't have a single memory of a time that that person was a safe space; furthermore, they made my life very unsafe on multiple occasions.
I cursed them and had a spirit doll with a personal taglock of theirs that I sustained and routinely worked on.
One day I was going to do some work on them again and before I started my Guide quite clearly said "Their life is awful." (and it is.), "Literally, there is very little room in how worse it can get..."
So I, in my infinite wisdom listed ways their life could get worse, and my guide said "And if those things happen, would it make you feel better?"
Because... No. It wouldn't. It wouldn't make me feel better at all.
And I needed to sit with that.
I needed to sit with it, and then I had to address the actual emotional wounds that my abuser had left me with, and look at ways on how to heal them, because that was what really needed attention.
I ended up dismantling my work on them, and putting their doll to sleep.
This isn't an anti-cursing post btw.
This is a "Hey, it's cool to curse... But it's also important to heal wounds that people leave us with too." post.
At the end of the day when your curse lands, and you get your desired outcome, you might still have the feelings your target left you with processing, and those are just as important as getting a lick back (and sometimes even more so).
