You know, SJ really did mean it when he told kid YZ that as long as you are a Gong, you are my brother. The moment he was convinced Ziyu was not illegitimate but an actual Gong, he switched to full on being OK with him - tips for practice and what not (even if not being a moron, he was still investigating.) The man has basically decided his calling is to be a big brother. Heh.

I loved when Ziyu pointed out that he could take the position away from him but he won't. It's funny because when we first meet SJ he comes across as both incredibly cold and incredibly ambitious and then as the story unfolds you realize he has both a deep capacity for love and utter lack of personal ambition (as opposed to ambition for his family.) I also loved that Ziyu figured out what SJ is like after realizing nobody who was a rat bastard could pass those trials, no matter his skill.

When Ziyu called him "Ge," my heart melted. Sorry, SJ, Gong didis are like Pokemon, you got to collect them all :P

PS Honestly, whatever else happened or didn't happen, I am just glad the bros get to chill and enjoy life together.

Anyway, this was an excellent drama I adored. Not a fan of cliffhanger bit at the end, but everyone got a decade of peace at the very least, which is the kindest ending you could have for this type of story.

You know which character I think was the most tragic? Or at least I was most heartbroken for?

Mind you, the competition was quite fierce it's young master Hua.

This kid just wanted his father to be proud of him, and he died unsure of it.

He watched his father die protecting him and the family, then proceeded to win against the bad guy by blowing up the entire place and killing himself in the process.

But that's not what makes me so sad for him. It is the fact no one cares much about him.

By the end of the last episode, all the important dead characters has someone mourning them.

Xue Chong Zi is mourning Xue Gong Zi

Young master Yue is mourning Yun Que

And both Gong Ziyu and Gong Shangjue are missing their girls

Young Master Hua though? No one seem to especially care...

The closest person to him was Gong Zishang, but she is shown to be happily in love with Ji Fan. There was only one scene when she looked slightly sad when they mentioned him, but then nothing.

It's the fact she was about to leave yet couldn't bring herself to do it. It's the fact he knew she couldn't and just wanted the assurance of it.
