I saw this when running newpipe. But wait, it gets deeper. I clicked on the details buttons and it said as of today, we have 83 days left until Google rolls out this new requirement for apps inside and outside of the google play store. If any developer disagrees with their new terms and fees, they will be blocked!

I'll share some of the info below:

Looks like they're trying to nuke the remaining privacy and freedoms we have left on the internet.

What to do?

-Get your developer friends to not comply to their new guides

- Sign the open letter on the site and take action by checking out the full resources list on their website as well!

To summarize, this is all daunting especially when you feel all alone with unfair and inhumane regulations comming out faster than improvements but we got this working together!

I am making this EMERGENCY TOXIC YURI REC POST because I actually had no idea it got licensed and apparently the artist said that sales weren't going well but the editor-in-chief has been allowing the series to continue and I need everyone to gather your powers and Save Yuri because if this series gets cancelled. I will be on the news.

ANYWAY, this is burnt out insecure manga artist/ambitious manipulative manga editor (although, rather than artist/editor it's more artist?editor). the art is BEAUTIFUL and the women are UNHINGED.

something that I really like about it is that the manipulative editor is pretty off-putting. the artist is resistant for the first few pages (lol) because the editor's extremely pushy, effusively over-affectionate, and excruciatingly blunt with what doesn't meet her standards (she calls the artist's storyboard "boring" Several Times)

but even though the editor seems to make a pretty universally terrible first impression on, quite possibly, every artist she's worked with, her intensity is the source of the charisma she uses to bewitch those artists

the Gripping Someone By Their Anatomically Accurate Heart visual comes back several times and it's always a banger, my favorite version of it so far is in chapter 7.

something that I find compelling is that the editor is definitely manipulative and only interested in artists that she thinks has the potential to be Ranked #1, and actively pits her artists against each other like she's running fight club, but there's something about her that makes you want to believe that some degree of her feelings are pure... that she truly and sincerely has a deep connection with the art that she gravitates to...

WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS MY FAVORITE TELEVISION SERIES OF ALL TIME (it's not out yet)

1. if you get the “answer my call” text, NEVER ANSWER THE CALL. 

They are calling you because they want to have the conversation verbally, and be able to lie later about what they said or didn’t say. Force them to continue via text or email- force them to continue the conversation in writing or not at all. 

2. “Lack of 2 weeks notice is unprofessional!” or the other version, “Not providing notice is illegal!”

No it isn’t. Neither is true. 

And in the US, all states except Montana are “at will” employment (though you may hear an employer refer to it as “right to work” to make it sound better, it’s the same thing). Sure, at-will employment means they can fire you without cause, BUT! It also means that you are not legally required to give a reason for quitting, or to give notice of any kind. 

Is it polite to give notice when you can? Sure. Do bosses expect it? Absolutely. But that does not make you legally required to provide it. 

3. The only thing I would change in the worker’s interaction here was their response when initially asked to come in. 

Employee: “Hey Mark. Sorry I’m unable to cover the shift tonight because I’m studying for my exam tomorrow.” 

Don’t give a reason for your lack of availability. It may be tempting to. You may feel rude if you don’t. 

DON’T DO IT.

You do not owe your boss any information about what you do off the clock, and any reason you give will only ever be used against you. 

Boss: “Hey I need you to cover Jasper’s shift tonight.”

Employee: “Sorry, I’m not available.”

And leave it at that. 

Do not elaborate. 

Do not offer additional information. 

When you boss asks you to elaborate, because they will, be polite but firm. “With respect, that’s personal. I’m sorry, but I’m unavailable to cover this shift/work late/come in early/etc.”

Be a broken record- you’re unavailable. That’s the only information they need to know, and it’s the only information they have a LEGAL RIGHT to know.
