Geological horror. You find a geode and crack it open and the crystal lining its walls is human blood that can't be genetically matched to anyone. You find a human skeleton but every one of the bones is made from rock, a rock that you know can't be whittled into those shapes. You find layers of clay and loam that sport ancient fossils at the top and the still-rotting corpses of modern animals at the bottom.

This reminds me of the blood river in Antarctica. For like a century scientists had no clue why this river looked like, acted like, and felt exactly like blood. Turns out it’s just really high in iron.

People would accuse you of backposting your fics to seem cool and mysterious but then someone points out there are comments on there which are dated from long-deactivated accounts 100 years ago and it's a whole thing

I would have to be like "yeah it's a thing where I inherited this account from someone dead and he had a whole thing about passing the account on"

So the fannish-next-of-kin feature was really just devised to disguise the existence of vampires.

ive also come to the conclusion that "laziness" is probably the stupidest, most hurtful, least useful, deliberately cruel concept in the world

I don't think I've ever seen anyone benefit from being called lazy but I've seen hundreds of people destroying their bodies and minds trying to avoid being called lazy because at some point someone decided that if someone wasn't miserable then that means they're a bad person

Something you should always remember about every single person you see on this site is that they are a tumblr user. They are the kind of person who uses tumblr

sometimes I remember how on the last day of my high school latin class our teacher had us gather around his laptop to show us latin memes on tumblr and my best friend and I just gaped at each other in abject horror. we couldn’t figure out if our teacher was just showing us memes on a Fun Website He Had Found or if he was a tumblr user for real. but he knew how to navigate it. years have passed but it haunts me. he could still be out here
