Hey! Fun fact!
As of 6:12pm 4/1/2026, we've got just over 10 minutes until they reach their launch window to send four astronauts into space! This time is pretty special, cuz if their Earth orbit goes well, they'll be headed off toward the moon! Yeah, her! We might be visiting the moon (the moon's orbit, anyway) with live people for the first time since the 1970s!
How cool is that??
Fun fact follow-up!
They lifted off! The Artemis II mission is going into Earth orbit to make sure all their systems are space-worthy before they speed off toward our moon.
If they clear all the checks and make that second leg of the journey, that would mean Artemis II is breaking ground on several 'firsts': the first female astronaut, first black astronaut, and first Canadian astronaut to visit the moon (or at least orbit it!)
This feels like a special moment at a time when it seems like the US as a nation is shunning diversity and science en masse. Glad I could witness it on live TV.
