“During your absence, several avoidable malfunctions occurred aboard the Normandy. We concluded Engineer Adams was unable to detect and repair simple diagnostic runs.”
Nowhere in the reply is Legion’s answer, and the geth simply tugged on the cabling.
“Your assistance is appreciated.”
“ Oh. Sure? ”
Tali was still wrapping her mind around the fact that Legion had been freely tampering with the Normandy’s circuitry. She should be used to it by now-- she is-- but with the Admirals peering over her back, that fact brought more hesitance than comfort.
“ If I had the leisure of doing routine checks on the Normandy’s system, I don’t think this would’ve happened. ” she stepped closer, looking at Legion before examining the cables. “ But thank you for helping out. ”

The platform hears Tali’Zorah, and consensus is reached immediately. Legion speaks. Were Legion a human, distress would be apparent, but as it stands, there is only a quiet, monotone voice and Legion itself, so it is up to Tali to discern the rest.
“Creator Tali’Zorah.”
Then tugs against the cables binding it to the ship, well aware of the futility in the action.
With the admiralty on board and an unwanted responsibility resting on her shoulders, Tali felt that it was an appropriate timing to get some time to herself while the admirals bickered at each other. So she walked around the ship, trying to get her thoughts and sanity together. She figured it would be a good idea to talk with Legion about these pressing issues. See its side of the matter.
However, she stumbled upon Legion sooner than she expected. Another, more important question lingered as their gazes locked.
“ --What’re you doing, Legion? ”

“I am curious about your suit’s functions. There is a chance that some of it’s functions could be mimicked by the Normandy, or even the suits of the squad providing them extra protection.”
“ I’m... not sure how I feel about that. But I trust you, and I’m open to suggestions or improvements-- in terms of my suit’s functionality. ”

“Tali’Zorah, might I inquire as to whether it is possible for me to connect my systems to that of your suit?”
“ It’s possible. Though the suit mainly acts as a barrier against diseases and infections. Why do you ask? ”
Firelight | Young The Giant
Lay down by the fire light For all I know it’s the last time
now that i think about it, i think tali would sometimes have dreams or nightmares about her father -- like in her loyalty mission, when she sees her father’s dead body. she so desperately tried to convince herself that her father was still alive in that geth infested ship. and even when they didn’t have the best relationship or a close relationship -- and after all the times she resented him for being so strict on her -- she still held onto that hope that they could rebuild their relationship somehow. then she figures out that all her father wanted was for her to have a better life, a chance of having a life on their homeworld.
she never had a chance to say thank you or good bye to him, and i think that’s what eats her up the most.

He nodded slightly at her, acknowledging her subtle movement. His brows furrowed ever so slightly and he folded his hands together, looking at her and - hopefully - meeting her gaze.
“ It is easy to become lost in the wrongdoings in one’s life. The memories hurt more, so they tend to come forth much easier than ones that don’t. But please, Miss Zorah. ” He sighed. “ Don’t blame yourself. You can live with it - You can learn from it. And the lives lost - It is better to honor them with the knowledge and experience from their deaths than to live with regret and let such experiences mean nothing. ”
His mind’s eye replaces the Quarian in front of him with Irikah and it takes all his strength to shake his head and dispel the vision. Thane forced a hopeful smile Tali’s way, but the gesture didn’t reach his eyes. His words were wise but hypocritical - he still blamed himself for the loss of his wife, and here he was lecturing a young woman on moving on.
There was a moment where she just stares at him-- not intentionally, but in a dazing manner. She let his words settle, meld in her mind. She thought of all the lives she lost that day. Some of them she knew, and others... -- her father. Their losses should not be in vain, and she sure as hell will make sure they haven’t died for nothing.
And it was then she noticed something faltered in the Drell. Most of the time it was hard to tell what he was thinking, let alone what he was feeling. Tali had always seen him as a reserved, well-composed man. But there was something different, a kind of desolation that was not far from her mind.
“ Did you... lose someone, Thane? ” after she realized what she blurted out, she quickly shook her head. Her hands flailed in the air -- an embarrassed response. “ S-Sorry! I didn’t mean to be so direct. ”

“And by ‘the Normandy’, you mean me, of course. — Not at all surprising, since I’m the embodiment of the ship. Or… well, I was. Anyways, things have been going pretty great for you, I hear. Admiral.”
“ Ooooooh, yeah. That’s kinda a long story. --Well, not really. Since my father passed and all, someone needed to take his place. And since I know more about the Geth technology than any other Quarian, the Admiralty board wanted my expertise. And now I’m an Admiral.
It’s temporary. ...I hope. ”

His bones ached, muscles were sore, and now all the Yautja wanted to do was get some sleep after clearing out one of the three hives. Alas, it was not to be. What a mess he had gotten himself into, but there was no one to blame but himself – he volunteered after all. In Lar’ja’s eyes, there was no other choice. Another galaxy would NOT suffer for the selfish actions of his people – Bad Bloods, specifically. Bringing facehuggers and Xenomorphs here? Unforgivable, even for them. His government’s rules on exile would have to change, especially now. However, that’s something he’d worry about when it was time to return home, when the mission was complete. Lar’ja would have their heads.
For now, it was time to simply wait for Tali’Zorah to finish repairing his Bio-Mask, before clearing out yet another hive and exterminate any stragglers. The Elite Hunter hadn’t had time to m a r v e l at the fact that there was another galaxy and that almost all the races were advanced as his, but it did intrigue him. So far, the Quarians on Rannoch feared him, but he did not blame them – his race was very imposing and intimidating. They had the strength of Krogan, Salarian intelligence, and weaponry on par with Council races and some that even surpassed it. Not only that but the ones that arrived here before him had unleashed a living plague worse than anything they had seen before – for the most part, anyway.
The fear that was shown wasn’t the ‘run away in terror’ fear, but the ‘stay out of his way with as little contact as possible’ way. It was better off that way. Lar’ja may not have had time to explore the galaxy, but he did have time to observe Rannoch. He liked the dessert feel of this part of the planet, nice and hot – but it also helped the X e n o s move around and harvest other Quarians for hosts. The Yautja was snapped out of his thoughts and brought back to reality when his name was called. Hopefully, it was some good news.
She fought Geth, Husks, Saren, Sovereign -- she even helped send the Reapers to their total demise. Her people were able to recolonize and establish a home on Rannoch after centuries of being a nomadic race. History was made for the Quarians, and although progress had been slow, they were able sustain a stable life on their homeworld. It hadn’t always been easy either; they had to rely on each other with no help from anyone else. Essentially, they were starting all over again.
But that all changed. They were posed with a new threat, and one that was RELENTLESS. One by one, Quarians have gone missing. Most were found with their chest cavity ripped wide open. It was ATROCIOUS, disturbing. Completely unforgivable. After all the Quarians have done to rebuild their fragile home and culture, all of that is suddenly on the brink of extinction. This is no Reaper, no, but this ‘ new arrival ’ has already harvested hundreds of lives in the span of days.
A few weeks into this newfound nightmare, and another alien entered Rannoch’s atmosphere. Tali, like many of her people, was initially cautious of him. She welcomed him with her firearm aimed directly to his forehead. But as soon as she realized he had been the one behind eradication of the xenomorphs, her perception of him shifted. He called himself Lar’ja -- which oddly sounds similar to her native tongue -- and now Tali’s the one doing him a favor.
“ Lar’ja, ” she called to him, running last minute diagnostics with her omni-tool. “ I was able to mend the tears on the ventilation tubes. Also, I hope you don’t mind me adding some adjustments to your mask. Air circulation SHOULD be better now. ”
