Have I just been incepted into shipping two guys from a nearly 40 year old sitcom on the strength of one fanvid? Maybe! I've just dled all the eps and have watched a couple and holy shit, this late Eighties show is already blowing my mind. The typically gimmicky sitcom premise is that back in their college days, friends Michael and Joey went on a trip to Florida and ended up falling in love with the same woman. When she dies a dozen years later, they find out she has a 12-year-old daughter and either of them could be the father (the father is "biologically indeterminate", aka we're just handwaving all that for comedy purposes), and she has laid out in her will that she wants them to co-parent. I was waiting for the explanation that one stole the other guy's girlfriend. What I was NOT expecting was that it's heavily implied they were in a poly M/M/F situation.

That's just the pilot, folks. I jumped randomly to another ep where Nicole dreams about her mother and what it would have been like for her if her mom and Michael (Paul Reiser) would have raised her or her mom and Joey (Greg Evigan) would have raised her...and then the mother and daughter have THIS very interesting exchange:

Like I don’t even know how you would even plot this fic out? Literally all 5 of them would encounter Pennywise and immediately scream and try to hit him with the nearest object?? Like Pennywise would starve to death in Derry. All the kids would throw hands the second they saw him.

“Are ye saying you saw a clown, Michelle?”

“Aye, it was a fecking clown, Claire.”

“But, clowns aren’t even scary!” 

“Aye, I know that, and I told the wee bastard as much, then he grew a bunch of fangs, like, total cracker actually if ye think about it.”

“Have none of you considered that a grown man dressed like a clown hiding in the sewers who wants to eat children might be something to take at least a little bit seriously?!?”

“Ach, seriously, fuck off James, go be a craic killer somewhere else!”

“Have ye considered James that maybe the clown is more afeared of us, than we are a him?”

“No, Orla, I hadn’t considered that, thank you.”

“Okay girls, I think we’re all missing the point here! You said that he grew fangs!??! Are you sure you weren’t just a wee bit blackout drunk?!”

“Well to be fair, I was boking all over myself, Erin, to be sure, yeah.”

The most recent example that a few people have added:

She is not hauling ass. (And poverty is an exaggeration, they'll have £250/year.)

She is screaming "The house is on fire!" while she herself pours more gasoline on it and does not call the fire department even though the cell phone is in her hand.

She says she wants her girls to get married. What effort has she contributed to this goal? Let's review.

❌ She has done nothing to raise her girls to have good manners, accomplishments, or education that would attract good men.

❌ She has done nothing to save money for her girls, again to either attract husbands or protect them if they never marry. (And they were rich, saving would have been very easy, but she and her husband were too selfish and lazy to do it.)

✅ She buys her girls dresses and ⚠️takes them to parties. That is literally it. The only thing she does to help them, and she does it so poorly that she actually makes things worse for them with her poor manners and management of her younger girls.

This isn't even getting into how abysmally she does as a mother in terms of loving, understanding, supporting, and guiding her children in aspects of their lives outside getting married...

She hurts her girls just as much as her husband, just in somewhat different ways.
