Burn Notice. [S1.E1: Pilot.]
This is legitimately how I’ve broken into a thousand places like just act like you’re meant to be there and if someone actually ends up calling you out on it just be super confused
#I would be an excellent pentester and actually have considered it as a job many a time#when I was a kid (7-14ish) my grandmother was in the hospital a lot and I was a bored kid that no one was really watching#and we spent days and days at the hospital over the course of those years#so I’d wander around and it became a challenge to see where it could get into without gettting caught#and the answer is basically everywhere#like ther is no legit reason for an 11 year old to be in the morgue but I was tall for my age and I would carry a cup of coffee#and look irritated to be there like someone woke me up for this#and no one would question me#people would ask where are you headed and if you just exhaustedly point through a security door 97% of the time they will swipe their card#-and open it for you
I want to add that I don’t make a habit of this now that I am a law abiding adult, but recently I accidentally did this again. Having been used to having my run of hospitals and walking basically anywhere as a child, I was visiting a friend in the hospital just before covid and I was legitimately exhausted and carrying a coffee cup cuz it was like 5:30am or something dumb, and I went to leave and get to the bottom floor and i’m like “this is not the lobby” and I walked around for a bit and people kept holding doors for me so I traveled through many corridors, and nothing looked familiar, and then I realized every single door was a key card swipe and everyone had mag-stripe badges with varying security levels and I realized I had gotton onto a staff elevator with the staff, who had swiped their card to go down into a high-security area of the building, and people had just been letting me through all these security doors.
So then I had to out myself and be like “Um I accidentally broke into you high-security wing, please show me the door, I’m literally just trying to leave this hospital” and I had to get like searched and stuff.
And what was funny was that while I was blissfully walking around assuming I belonged, No one questioned ANYTHING and in fact, were violating protocols left and right to let me through, but the VERY SECOND I realized I was not where I was supposed to be and let that show on my face, like three people in the hall confronted me.
So the take away is, be confident that you belong, look exhausted and like you don’t want to be there, and carry a cup of coffee. It will open pretty much all doors.
@clutchkuza I feel like you need to hear this lol
No joke, Burn Notice is a great show. If you like Leverage, give Burn Notice a try (its available on Hulu and Prime iirc) and frfr, confidence and an excuse are all you need to get around places
This works I accidentally broke into someone’s whole ass home a month or so ago and uhhh it went fine because I’m short white and VERY CONFUSED
One time while I was in Rome, I was busy admiring the ruins and not paying attention to signage, got lost, and ended up in some kind of archaeological dig or restoration. Not knowing it was off-limits (having missed all signage, as previously stated), I started peeking around all the stone stuff, wandering off the path, and most importantly (to this story), poking around in a hole that had been dug into the ground. I was careful not to touch anything, but still, clearly (to anyone who wasn’t as oblivious as me) this was not a place a tourist was meant to be.
I finally attracted the notice of someone who was meant to be part of this restoration project when I came back up from the hole. He quickly came over to ask me, in Italian, what I’m sure were the very normal questions of “Who are you?”, “What are you doing here??”, etc.
Problem: I do not speak Italian.
My brain’s solution: Quick, what language do we speak that’s close?!
And that is how I wandered up out of a hole in a Roman ruin without warning and began speaking ancient Latin to an archaeologist.
This man’s face went through 15 different absolutely floored expressions in ten seconds, like you could physically see him going through the thought process of “Have I encountered a ghost from ancient Rome? No, ghosts aren’t real. But if ghosts not real, how Latin??? Fellow researcher??? Supposed to be here???”
So this is the story of how I was allowed to walk away without issue at all after blatantly trespassing upon the ruins of ancient Rome, because if you speak Latin, where else would you belong?
When in Rome…
[[TADC EPISODE 9 SPOILERS]]
Bro.
It's so funny to me that in spanish east and west (Este and Oeste) are pronounced the same as "This or this" if said one after the other without connectives in between, so the people talking just sounds confused about directions
This is actually a thing that iirc most primates showcase. Its a kind of paradoxical (in relation to the standard in nature) selection of the pack's leader. While in idk a lion pack you'd see a dominant male be selected, in primates (and therefore humans) an individual who's bossy, dominant and steps over others will get exiled out of the pack. Individuals who do this are considered hoarders and will destroy the community.
So anyone that tries to tell you that following the bigger man is the natural order of things is a dumbass or is trying to sell you something.
ch6 ideas / thoughts / possibilities
i've been watching a lot of utdr theories lately and replaying all of deltarune. while going through the chapters, i've been trying to pick up on anything that can allude to contents of chapter 6. from the newsletters, we know that chapter is going to be dreary? more serious? at least in comparison to 5.
one thing i did notice was something small within the recruits menu. each chapter, the background color of the recruits changes. in ch1, the background was purple:
ch2, aqua:
ch3, green:
ch4, blue:
and ch5, yellow:
what do these colors all have in common? they're all colors that correspond to a flower. the remaining two are orange and gold. which color will relate to ch6?
i wanted to assume orange only because gold is really close to yellow, but i actually found - what i think is - pretty solid confirmation that it will be orange:
reading this backwards, we get: purple (seth), aqua, green, blue, yellow, and orange.
this lines up perfectly with the current colors for chapters 1-5. therefore, i can pretty confidently say that chapter 6 will be associated with orange.
flower traits
we can glean from each flower's description - from the check act in-game - what their key trait is (or lack thereof).
purple(seth) - perseverance
aqua - patience
green - kindness
blue - integrity
yellow - justice
orange - bravery
now the following is a bit more speculative, as i don't currently know of any concrete evidence of this, but i do think that these traits also correlate to the chapters. as i'm not very skilled in this, im very open to hearing other ideas, but here's my interpretation:
*this is all pacifist route stuff, no side b
ch1 - perseverance: since susie wasn't keen on being a hero, she was a hindrance and frequently got in our way. despite that, we kept trying to be her friend. and from our openness to accept her and our courage to stand with her and protect her when she's vulnerable, we eventually earn her trust.
ch2 - patience: i think this is shown as two extremes between queen and noelle. queen speaks quickly and moves from one idea to the next in an unpredictable manner. like aqua, she lacks patience. noelle on the other hand, has allowed people to step on her, speak over her, and put words in her mouth. her abundance of patience was something the people in her life could take advantage of.
ch3 - kindness: i want to say that this corresponds to us fixing up tenna after he's slashed by the knight, and agreeing to find him a new home with someone who sincerely wants him. it could also be the kindness that susie showed tenna right before that when she explained how she could relate to his struggles.
ch4 - integrity: i believe this is shared between kris and ralsei. before the darkworld, kris is actively betraying susie's goal - getting the shelter codes - and despite whatever that motive is, they are not honest to susie and choose to continue to hide this from her. while in the darkworld, susie finds out about how much ralsei knows and feels betrayed by his lack of honesty. from this confrontation, ralsei chooses to try to be more honest, working on his integrity.
ch5 - justice: we see this quite literally with asgore and his desperation to find the one responsible for the dark fountains. this could also be reflected in our behavior towards the flowers. like despite the fact that they're not darkners or lightners and that they're technically our enemy, we remain friendly towards them? idk
okay, phew. with that all being said, we can gather that chapter 6 will have a strong focus on orange's trait - bravery.
while i don't exactly know what this could entail, i'll run down my current theories.
we will visit the shelter in ch6
the shelter has a lot of fear associated with it.
alphys says:
* It makes me wonder if... even if there was some disaster...
* Whatever's inside there...
* Might be worse...?
and most townsfolk advise kris to stay away from the shelter. during the sword route in ch3, kris even tries to move our character away as we approach the shelter.
we know too - or at least, could assume - that noelle will be joining our party in ch6. if the shelter really was the place that the disaster that involved dess took place, noelle would need as much bravery as she could get to have the courage to step inside.
unrelated to "bravery" - ralsei directly tells kris not to make any more fountains, which fountain is left? the shelter! and on top of that, we receive the last egg and shadow crystal in chapter 5 and are pretty blatantly told that this was our last adventure (something like that). i really think this is all leading up to us neeeeeding to go into the shelter.
titans will appear in ch6
since titans are considered the manifestation of the fear of the dark, the heroes will need to brave the dark to fight back woahhhh yea thats really it
errrmmm that's pretty much all i have rn. i could keep going on other tangents but i'd just be straying away from the original purpose of this post. i might make another talking about what character each flower represents but that one is still brewing in my brain. sorry to write so much off of such a small detail but i neeeeeeded to get this off my chest somehow, and i want to see if anyone else clocked it.
TLDR ch6 is orange :0 (bravery)

You know what? Fuck it I'm adding more context. Sesame Street has talked about the topic of death more than once and it's done with such gentle carefulness without watering down or censoring the heaviness of the situations. It treats heavy subject matter with respect and dignity and has been for DECADES. From the early 1980s:
To 2025:
Hell, they even cover the devastating heaviness of MASS SHOOTINGS without censoring or watering anything down.
They've been doing this for YEARS, and it's ALWAYS handled with dignity, respect, seriousness, understanding, and love.
Whenever I see people censoring words because it "might offend" someone or the big ad companies that are currently trying to run everything? I just want to say to them: "What? Is Sesame Street too mature for you?" Because really...what the hell are we doing.
I'm back with even more examples! Sesame Street once again to this day is out here handling extremely difficult subject matter with incredible care and respect. "We can't let kids learn about uncomfortable things!" Oh, really now? Even though they're things that happen in everyday life that they'll face one day at some point anyway? Interesting. Let's see what else this show has covered that people (for some reason) think should be avoided and hidden. Here's more on death of loved ones and greif:
Or how about when someone is put into the foster care system because their home isn't safe anymore and their needs aren't being met?
Maybe some discussions about group therapy/getting help and support?
Hey look! Here's a segment about gender expression vs taught expectation, including unlearning harmful biases and what to do when you hurt someone on accident because you didn't know it was wrong!
Look! The topic of race and diversity! The importance of unity and equity!
They even also have a more allegorical take on discrimination and being looked down on for who you are, featuring Big Bird. The conflict is about how he's not being let into a club because the one bird running the club personally decided he didn't want someone like Big Bird there.
Big Bird goes out of his way to keep changing parts of himself in order to "prove" he can fit into this club if he just changed enough. The truth comes out though, and there's nothing he can do to gain the approval of that bird. He will never be good enough in his eyes, and Big Bird starts to hate himself. His real friends see this finally put their feet down, emphasizing that you should never change yourself just to fit into one singular narrow idea someone else has.
There's A LOT of different situations this can be an allegory for. Racism, sexism, homophobia, basically ANY form of exclusion is put on full blast in this 15 minute clip. Sesame Street can be both blunt and allegorical when approaching difficult topics, and it NEVER misses or looses the point.
It does an exceptional job in both styles of representation WITHOUT watering anything down. The more sanitized everything gets, the more radical Sesame Street is suddenly considered, hence why so many "particular groups" want it gone. Hmmm! I can only imagine why that could be, in this current political climate! (I'm being sarcastic)
When Sesame Street is suddenly labeled as "questionable" or "politically/agenda motivated" content...it says A LOT about where we currently are and who gets to decide what's "best" for kids or not. Don't fall for the censorship and topic-dodging excuses that are covered by the "But think of the children!!!" movement. Never fall for it, because you know which side you're on if you do.
Sesame Street proves kids can be taught and trusted with learning about these topics when it's handled with the right amount of understanding and care. It shows what all this "controversy" is all really about. What it's always been about, actually.
Don't fall for it, always side with Sesame Street.
okay i'm lowkey in super hell rn so i got too busy to do research for transfem ralsei so for now i just wanna say, please stop trying to declare things objectively or fight about ralsei's gender... "ralsei can't be this or that" actually they can! shut up man keep it to yourself. leave her alone
