ena constantly reminds kanade to allow herself happiness

she has always been vocal about how much she hopes kanade can prioritise her own happiness, and wants her to see how saving others shouldn't be something she thinks of as a source of joy.

she's the only one who points it out to kanade, especially in kana4, when she says that composing to save others and kanade’s true happiness are two different things.

she wishes for kanade to explore her genuine passions, unrestricted by her guilt. eventually this gives kanade the strength to start thinking about when she truly enjoyed music without being chained to obligation, making her realise that she still wants to compose.

she wants to make songs that are warm and comforting like her dad's songs, instead of songs made to save others.

and just like how kanade wants mafuyu to smile, ena hopes kanade can smile too. ena isn't trying to save kanade, but she's giving her the love and comfort kanade cant give herself.

also, the validation kanade gives to ena was why she could even think about pursuing art again

after years of her art being subjected to criticism and ena thinking that there isn't any redeemable quality to it, kanade helps her realise how irreplaceable her art truly is.

even after drawing for niigo, ena still believes her art is just an added bonus to their songs, something dispensable.

however, kanade never stops affirming ena and makes sure she knows how much her art is loved by niigo, especially herself. she genuinely appreciates the meaning, effort and skill behind every artwork ena does.

she's what ena has been searching for her whole life—recognition. kanade knows how much it means to ena, and wholeheartedly accepts being that person who will always see her art.

a long time ago i made up an n25 idol au mainly centered around ena, so there's that.

also VBS ENA PLEASEEE i've been begging and praying for that. don't have anything super deep to say about it atm i just think she'd look and sound so cool. dress her up in some edgy grunge or punk outfits, it'd be very different from her usual style but somehow still so fitting. also she could be a graffiti artist. can't believe nobody on vivid street canonically is one.

An official remaster of the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil was announced today, releasing this September. The first time a Touhou game has gotten this treatment, and notably the first time EoSD is available digitally at all (I think). Featuring art and music redone by ZUN, updated gameplay, and notably, inbuilt translations for 10 languages!

A new spin on a Touhou classic is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2!
