Fall Out Boy fans, especially old-school fans, I need your help. There is an interview from the kickoff of the band's reunion that has become lost over the years.
It started with this thread on the Lost Media Wiki forums. TL;DR from the OP:
There's a lost video from 2013 of FOB playing a guessing game where they have to draw on whiteboards right after Save Rock and Roll released.
The video contains a moment where Patrick draws "Infinity on High" as an infinity symbol smoking a blunt, as pictured below:
OP does not cite the source for where they found this screengrab, and they also mention a gif that is not present in their post. What they provide as evidence of this video's existence is an archive.org link from a now-deleted webpage on iHeartRadio's website. Sadly, the original link and the embedded video are no longer available, hence why this is lost media.
Doing some of my own research, I found a few connected pieces. Firstly, I found that there were several other interviews that FOB did with other media companies on the same day, like Fuse, VH1 (though this is just a Vine), and iHeartRadio partner Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. Given the Vine and Elvis Duran were both originally posted on February 6th, 2013, it's safe to say these were all recorded then, even if some (like the lost video) were released later (February 8th).
Secondly, I found gifs from the video, created by Tumblr user @myzingpatrick on April 4th, 2016. This not only provides our first moving visuals of this video (!!!), but given the link on the post, it proves that the video was up on iHeartRadio's website until at least April 2016.
This is as far as I have been able to get on my own. Here's to hoping that, if enough fans spread the word about this piece of lost media, that someone somewhere will have a link of it. Fall Out Boy has a very old fandom (at least by modern standards) and surely some fan downloaded this video in 2013-16 and still has it on their old laptop or something.
