need me some of this "renewable energy" I keep hearing about
can we hurry up and make it legal to have boobs out in public it's been too hot outside lately
I do appreciate the sentiment but maybe I should rephrase:
can we hurry up and make it normalized to have boobs out in public so that even if it’s legal in your state you don’t risk get arrested anyway and you need to hire an attorney to point out that you were’t breaking any laws.
can we hurry up and make it normalized to have your boobs out in public so it’s weird that it’s legal in some places and not others.
can we hurry up and make it normalized to have your boobs out, like, in general, cause at the moment I have all male roommates who like the apartment 5 degrees hotter than I do and I’m the only one who can’t walk around shirtless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t be topless in public even if it’s legal cause some scandalized puritan is gonna put me on tiktok

big fan of characters who look cool and tough and stoic but only because theyre internally thinking "fuckkk what do i say. how do i make friends. they didnt teach me how to do that in sword school."
Yet another new study debunked the basis for the anti-trans sports bans. It was never about sports but for creating legal avenues for exclusion and abjection. This is one of the largest analyses ever conducted, involving 52 studies and 6,485 trans people. Read the study here.

GUYS PIRATING IS BAD.
DO NOT PIRATE ANYTHING. NOT SHOWS/MOVIES. NOT GAMES OR SAFER GAMES. AND CERTAINLY NOT BOOKS. AND DO NOT DOWNLOAD YOUTUBE VIDEOS. AND NEVER EVER EVER WATCH MUSICALS WITHOUT GOING TO THEM AND DONT USE ADBLOCKERS/OTHER ADBLOCKER TO AVOID ADS AND VIRUSES PIRATING IS VERY HARMFUL TO THE CORPORATIONS WHO WORKS VERY HARD TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE AND THEIR MONEY. ANYONE WHO PIRATES IS BAD. BAD PIRATING. EVIL. OH AND THIS
this is the type of shit they'd put on containers of grape concentrate during prohibition
boring take from real 21st century idiots: bdsm is bad because it's basically torture
interesting take from a fictional 14th century monk: torture is bad because it's basically sex
I'm fed up with "maybe later".

stolen off instagram but i laughed so hard when i saw this
We really do live in a society lads
Society may produce un-traumatized autistic people.
They just can't get diagnosed. Because an autism diagnosis requires problems: Difficulty with communications, with managing emotions, with physical behavior constraints.
An autistic child raised by compassionate parents who don't mind that their kid won't meet their eyes to talk, who don't get upset at hand-twitches, who avoid clothes that the kid doesn't like, who help the kid understand their own emotions and how to recognize the emotions in the people around them ("see how his forehead is crinkled? That means he may be upset, or he may just be thinking hard, but either way, he's probably not happy")... may not have noticed that the kid is autistic.
There's a reason a lot of autism isn't recognized until school - because parents that just pay attention to their kids and adapt their communication to what the kid needs, may not set off any of the "problem indicators." And a compassionate school may manage to bypass them as well, especially for girls, who are less likely to have the "fidget" behaviors, and for whom "speak softly while not making eye contact" isn't usually considered a red flag.
According to the DSM-5, autism is characterized by:
difficulty communicating and interacting with others
repetitive behaviors and a narrow set of interests
symptoms that affect quality of life and functioning in areas like work and school
...if the person's symptoms don't "affect quality of life and functioning," they don't get diagnosed. If their surrounding community is supportive, they may not have "difficulty communicating and interacting" - just a different style than most of the people around them. And their interests may be seen as "well, that's what they're interested in; it's cool that they have a hobby."
Autism is only officially labeled when it causes problems for neurotypicals in the autistic person's community.
Non-traumatized autistic people are just "a bit odd," and the medical industry doesn't recognize them.
"this thing is rare and only affects 1% of the population" dude that's 80 million people can you shut up
"this thing is so rare, if you put everyone it affects on an island it would be the 20th most populated country in the world, more than the UK, more than South Korea, and more than Canada AND Australia AND Tunisia all put together. we can literally forget about it that's not many people"
#is this about autism?
it's about autism and EDS and intersex variations and about trans people and also it's about golden blood and it's about blind people, it's about screaming all day long and howling the night out that you exist even if you're not everywhere, you're small but your heart beats and your lungs pump air and they want you forgotten in the pages of a book they won't read
When I tell that I LOVE solarpunk
Oh, I remember this, the edit was done by youtuber Waffle to the left.
They didn't just cut out the parts with the oat milk, they skillfully edited over all the god-damn branding and replaced the audio.
But what I still find most hilarious about this whole commercial is the fact that everything they show in this solar punk world seems to be made with sustainable, zero waste and reusable materials.
Everything EXCEPT THE FUCKING CHOBANI BRANDED STUFF! The only plastic you see in this whole commercial is all the straight to the landfill packaging made by the very corporation that tries to sell how sustainable and "green" they are. Unintentional self satire at its finest.
They couldn't even show their yogurt and milk in (basically infinitely reusable) glass containers because they pretty much only sell their shit in plastic
It is such a perfect example of the true face of "green" capitalism, it's hilarious.
The punk in this solarpunk comes from cutting the corporation out of the picture
ALSO
Another really interesting thing about this edit is that they changed the label on the side of the apple-picking machine.
From "donations" to "commons". It's a subtle change, but it makes a huge difference in the world-building of the video. The former implies that this big orchard belongs to an owner and that they're donating the fruits to "the less fortunate" (and, by extension, that poverty is still a thing); the latter implies that the orchard belongs to everyone and that the fruits are free to take in the spirit of solidarity.
Waffle To The Left brought out the potential in this gorgeous video and made it an actual solarpunk utopia — without brands and without corporate pandering, complete with true common ownership over land and resources.
Hey someone suggested I use ChatGPT to figure out adulting today, and as I was going through the mental list of places I'd rather look, I realized "beloved strangers on Tumblr dot net" was on that list.
So if you have an aspect of adulting that you're really good at-taxes, budgeting, cooking, insurance, credit, time management, house upkeep, anything-please feel free to reblog with any tips.
Not me, but @bitchesgetriches has a lot of great resources for many of these topics on their website.

Some of us are catching just enough things to know that it's happening, but I'm sure very few USians have any idea of the scale. I know I don't.
This week I read about a Korean green-card holder who is being deported after 30-some years because he went to Korea for a family funeral and coming back they checked and found a decades-old minor pot charge on his record. He was held in an airport - not in a cell - for a week.
It's happening, but you'll have to know where to look to find out. Not the major media, which are afraid of The Felon Guy.
https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/a-tunisian-musician-was-detained-in-la-after-20799025.php
And they will use the flimsiest of pretenses to detain and deny, even beyond “ traveling while brown.” The cruelty is the point.
