I heard lwj hardly talks in the book so I may do a counter for how many lines he has to see just how true that is

I know it’s shortened to fit most of this in one or two eps in the adaptations but reading it makes book wwx sound so much better at avoiding everyone he knew and even then that’s not saying much

wwx used weaponized homophobia and insecurity against jc- it was super effective!

this is so funny- i know im going through this slow but whatever this is exactly what i was looking forward to reading it seeing what was kept out of adaptations and this whole bit of wwx trying to get the jade oken to leave cloud recesses only to end up having several gay thoughts about lwj AND get stuck in bed with him bc he dont understand what happened to his reserved friend to be ok with this now while said friend is no doubt having his own time processing his love isnt dead and is now just in his room in his bed with him now

I was so caught up in the flashback I totally forgot he was asleep paralyzed laying on top of lwj

Idk if this was me misremembering or a translation error or if offscreen he just had a birthday but isn’t Jin Ling supposed to be 14? Why’s it saying he’s 15 now? While wangxian was out solving a mystery did they just throw a party for him only to soon after get swallowed up by the man eating castle??

The dread that sank in realizing the promise jc is probably talking about is how wwx said he’d be by his side as his subordinate 😬

I had to make a note of this bc I’d been doing the lwj line counter but no way line 100 from him is “Do not go…”

Maybe this was just me never fully understanding from the untamed and the donghua but I’m understanding way more from the novel why nhs is like this beyond he just doesn’t like cultivating like yeah! If my family had an extensive history of getting fatal anger issues bc they wanted to cultivate in a specific way I wouldn’t wanna do that either!! Let him just have his fans and porn books in peace!

lwj spending the entire time waiting for wwx to end his conversation and come back just kicking a rock and that’s where all the focus of this scene is until wwx comes back and even that’s just barely before lwj was about to head over is just insane he’s like a puppy or a little kid

wwx you would’ve been the best substitute teacher…

wwx’s slow realization that lwj been spoiling him, not caring bout him grabbing his money, drinking with him, ordering the unholy red hot spice bomb dishes all for him(and even eating some of it himself occasionally) and still wondering “wow why does thinking bout him make me so happy?”

Ok I’m gonna say this now, either this was a bit of a less important arc in all to the plot or there was something gay going on in this bit (or I’m having my own wwx moment and don’t remember it) bc I don’t remember this whole poetry flower garden place in the donghua or the untamed the only time I remember it being mentioned was in the chibi series with nhs doing it perfectly and wwx getting attacked by the flower spirit

nothing has betrayed me in the adaptation pipeline than finding out that the paper doll wwx wasn’t some gingerbread looking thing it’s actually more like

The funniest part about wwx slowly having the realization he’s catching (been long since caught lbr) feelings for lwj is just how damn often after he starts to really get closer to realizing it how often he internally brings up lwj in situations that had nearly NOTHING to do with him

this always happens with me but I hate these scenes where a character gets their treasures destroyed esp by people they’re supposed to trust

wn being so polite to the dismembered corpses while trying to bury them just “if I put your bits in the wrong place please forgive me😔” best. Still my fave character

yes wwx asking your friend if they plan to retire and then having a detailed and extensive plan on what you’d both do together in that scenario including living and having meals together is very normal best bro behavior

I knew there was a blindfolded kiss scene I missed out on but man he really saw the opportunity and just RAN with it huh?

I think I’m starting to slow down a little reading knowing I’m coming up to the end (not including extras)

oh and that’s a DEVASTATING blow for lwj!

the way I laughed out loud SO HARD at wwx wondering if being gay is contagious and it’s only bc of mzy’s body that he’s suddenly (realized) caught feelings for lwj

I was a gonna comment on the whole jgy and lxc stopping everything to ask bout the wangxian drama but then remembered wwx just in the last scene confirmed he’s COVERED in marks that make it clear he was fucking round VERY recently so it just makes his confusion over their investment in this issue so much funnier

i've always been dogshit at pottery on a wheel because i have weak noodle arms and can't hold my hands firmly in place to center the clay but i finally realized the root issue was that my legs are SHORT since i have the limb/torso proportions of a dachshund and i couldn't brace my elbows on my legs, so i put bricks under my feet and now i can sort of do it!! i've tried to learn twice in the past from TALL people but had a revelation when i watched a medium size guy throwing.
