Always thinking about that one time that in middle school a teacher somehow mixed up Les Mis and the Count of Monte Cristo. Still not quite sure how that happened.

I guess maybe it's hard or something having two groups of students in the same class obsessed with two different musical adaptations of long french novels from the 1800s, or something like that.

There was a group of like 5 or so students who were really into Les Mis, and I was the 1 student into the Count of Monte Cristo.

Still must have been embarrassing mixing them up in front of a bunch of 7th graders who knew the difference.

Perhaps this is an obnoxious take on my part, but video games should, above all things, prioritize the ability of being paused. At any point. Regardless of whether it's during a cutscene, a special animation, or a time-based puzzle. You never know when you're gonna get a phone call, or someone will need you in another room, or you get a sudden urge to go to the bathroom, or you hear your cat licking plastic, or whatever. Other entertainment mediums like books, movies, and music can be paused whenever you want. Why do some games not give you the same luxury??

i find anglophone plagiarism discourse extremely funny because most bollywood movies when i was growing up would be straight up ripping plots and cinematography from cinema abroad and the music in them would be interpolating and sometimes just remaking it with hindi lyrics. copyright is fake asf the world is so much bigger without it <3

I don't know why I put up with people moralizing my sleep schedule. Would it be nice for me to be awake at more socially acceptable times? Perhaps. But that's kind of hard when your health issues are ones that become worse when laying down, you know the position you sleep in. Geese I wonder why it varies so much when I fall asleep and consequential when I wake up. I hate the way they look at me as if I am lazy and irresponsible for something that's caused by me being sick and in pain. Even when I go to bed at a "normal" hour, I still end up waking up at 5 at night. And honestly so what if I stayed up at late hours intentionally, it's not like it's their right to control such a thing. Perhaps they think that my poor health is somehow my own fault despite me being the only person in this household who gives a damn about masking and not attending gatherings while ill. Now those certainly are actions with moral weight, and ones that can be easily controlled by oneself (unlike the hours at which one happens to be or not to be sleeping at)

Hey so a small thing that literally everyone who sees this is capable of is correcting any “used to” statements about native people in this country.

“Native people used to live in this National Park” No. They still do.

“Native people used to tell these stories-” No. They still do.

“Native people used to use this plant as a natural remedy-” No. They still do.

Better yet, familiarize yourself with the tribes local to you. Odds are, they do not yet have federal recognition. You can still read the stories they have to share, you can share their ongoing battle for recognition with others, you can sign petitions and spread the word to others to do so as well. But do something.
