okay actually here's some justification because i feel it's necessary as this is totally out of left field. june and mikan share a lot of similarities which is why i first connected the two of them in my head. in no small fact because of their design similarities and the fact that mikan was (maybe?) intended to be a zombie girl in her beta design. who else is a zombie girl i wonder..
june has experienced a lot of mistreatment at the hands of her peers and fell victim to manipulation from someone she began to idolize early on. she is constantly wrapped in bandages and hides her pain. she has an intense need to take care of others, prioritizing their health over her own, and only feels content when others are happy because of her actions.

there are even more similarities beyond these surface levels ones. i was like, what if these two very damaged teenagers got to support each other, heal together, and give each other the love they both desperately deserve? what if they gave each other the gentility and grace they need? what if they healed their wounds and healed their hearts. what if their bandages wrapped them together like a red string. what if they were yuri and it was awesome.
it's genuinely baffling that this was the first danganronpa fanart i ever made and it was a crackship of mikan with my own oc june. but also.. i don't know if it could've been any other way.. i love mikan and wish she was treated better. who do i know would treat her better, and would accept the care mikan offers in return? my beloved baby girl june <3
