Lexi (2021)
This is a colorful pet portrait of an adorable blue merle Australian shepherd puppy named Lexi, sitting in the grass, with a sunset gradient background. Acrylics on canvas.
I painted her portrait another time, in 2020 as a part of a group portrait for the same owner. ↓↓↓ She is the one on the right-hand side, and is an adult in this one.
In 2021, I painted a total of 22 portraits. Actually 23, since I painted the same one twice for the same customer. 17 of those were dog portraits.

its so annoying
Laying under my weighted blanket with my stuffed animals and Nintendo switch… I need to decompress. I’m 28 and just finished graduate school (somehow!)… and it’s wild because in some ways I appear so “high functioning” in society and yet my mental illnesses and autism/ADHD/processing disorders do make life just a whole lot harder. Sometimes I wish others could SEE my struggle but I’m just too good at masking!!! I feel very validated by those that I do unmask around however. Grateful for those people. Do you mask? This can apply to any disability, not just autism. I certainly mask my depression/bipolar and anxiety too when I have to.
