I admit that I really don't care for how the second one calls this character "your boy" and "boy" 😬 but in terms of application, I've done it and it works well 👍🏾 the rest is just studying real life locs and how they move 👍🏾
Artfight season is always difficult because I can post all the disclaimers I want asking people not to whitewash my Black characters, it still happens and I just never know how to answer... The worst being when I can tell they did their best but are not educated. I've been thinking about adding "if you're not confident you can depicting my Black ocs accurately and respectfully, pick another one" but I'm worried about coming off as bitchy, and part of me want to push people out of their comfort zone and "force" them to consider and give the same amount of care to Black characters. Instead of giving them an easy way out. Would anyone here be willing to share how they deal with that?
Is it bitchier for you to make that disclaimer than it is for someone to be racist to you?
If you want to challenge folks, you say "I challenge folks to take on the depiction of my Black characters, but I am only accepting ones that have been done respectfully."
You can even do like that other person and link my syllabus for "how to depict Black characters respectfully" if you'd like. You're not being bitchy for saying that you would rather not experience antiblackness if you can avoid it. Someone who'd be offended by that is probably not someone who wanted to draw a Black character anyway.
Like forgive me or don't, but I am completely team "If you're not going to put in the effort to be respectful, don't bother. Just draw another white person." Why should I accept something disrespectful about my depiction? Why is it WRONG of me to want to be respected? That's not bitchy! That's fair!
cooler lesbian comix than the one youre probably talking about

TURNABOUT CORNER DAY!!!!
butterfly girl 🦋
I loveeee Dahlia Hawthorne butterfly imagery, so i made a rough concept of her design mixed with butterfly attributes !
Hi, this is my unicorn centaur oc!
I wasn't sure fully what to do with her coat colour when I was initially designing her because I usually draw unicorns with white fur, but it doesn't make a lot of sense for her fur to completely lack melanin because she's Black, but I thought maybe she'd have sort of a golden colour for her fur because perhaps one of her parents is a gazelle centaur or something and they have more golden fur
I was trying to think about how the human features like curly hair would interact with the non-human features like tail fur
I was also trying to draw the hair more detailed because in the past I've tried to communicate afro textured hair in my art just by drawing a wiggly outline around the shape of the hair but that didn't look as good as what I did this time
This feels so precious, like it'd be in a fairy tale book!
Okay, real talk now. People love to tag male characters in posts about women, but this post is gonna take this seriously. Is there actually a canonically male character you believe is a trans woman? Or at least has made into a trans woman for a fanart or a fanfic? Excluding the ones canonically implied.
Sound off in the tags! Link to the fanart or fic if available. Do it. Give me the girls. Make more women.
dick makes people mentally ill. dick havers, dick wannabes and dick lovers are all insane. it's like toxoplasmosis, you have compulsive need to defend and push and worship dicks all the time and spead your dick mania to everywhere you go.
this seems rational and grounded in empirical evidence
#lost in a fugue of penis delerium
reblog to spread your dick mania to everywhere you go

It's June 15, 2026! Happy "this is the first time I've felt this way with a man" day AKA Klavier's introduction!
happy "klavier leans down to say hiiiii" day!!!!!
I try not to fall into the "I never liked their work anyway" ditch when an artist/creator reveals themself to be a terrible person
BUT
a feeling I do have and will stand by is "While I enjoyed their work overall I did have some gripes that I overlooked out of affection and whimsy, but now that my loyalty is gone and my affection tainted there is nothing holding me back from enumerating my many grievances, to which the revelations of the creator's shittiness may or may not provide a new and infuriating context."
hello instagram artist. your challenge is to do a portrait study of a woman but you’re not allowed to stylize them so their eyes are really big and more cat eyed than the reference photo. You’re also not allowed to make their noses more of a button nose or their lips full and pouty or their faces heart shaped with no double chin. Also you have to draw a fat woman. one thats actually fat and not just slightly curvier than the kpop demon hunters body type. good luck
never not thinking abt this
Saw this on Twitter and I obligatory need to share it
So she actually said that she does not see the appeal in Senshi at all and that the panty shots weren't intended to be horny - she just has a neighbor who looks kind of like him and does laundry in his underwear. Which she finds kind of weird and offputting, and put into his character to be funny.
But that's the thing. She doesn't exaggerate or grotesqueify or alter people's bodies to fit some standard. (Except insofar as she draws different species differently, and those are exquisitely practiced to ensure they have the same diversity of appearances that humans do.) She just presents people exactly as they are, complexities and oddities and all.
It just so happens that when you present people exactly as they are, what you present will be beautiful and alluring to many. Even the things you yourself might find weird and offputting. Honestly I think it's a touching example of how you don't have to see the beauty in everyone for the beauty to be there, simple honesty is enough to let the wonder of people's humanity shine through.
#i think we should put this post next to the interview where she said she doesn't want to eat the food in the series cuz she's a picky eater#and file them both under 'you don't know an artist from their work'#and maybe you don't need to!#maybe all you need to know is that ryoko kui is Good At What She Does#idk I don't like the implication that artists (and women especially?) can only create from personal life and feelings#some people have imagination and craft#kind of a tangent but. there you go.
no but you're very correct
I want to try so many little hobbies. Candle making, soap making, basket weaving, wood carving, book binding, baking, weaving, I want to try them all.
I almost made a post about this the other day (unless i actually did and totally forgot) but there’s so many
I was going to make a list, but then i realized this is a good time to share this book
Making Stuff and Doing things is a whole collection of old punk DIY zines about making and doing just about anything, even things you probably never knew you wanted to do.
Book binding? In there.
Making bowls from old vinyl records? I made a whole ton for my brother’s grad party last year.
Basics of guitar? Making rubber stamps? Silk screening? Composting? Homemade beer, root beer, and wine? Soymilk?? Quill pens??? All in there.
Since it’s more punk, it doesn’t have a ton of the folksy, cottage vibes/hobbies, but it’s all about being resourceful and sustainable, which they both have in common.
If i ever need to do anything I’m not sure of, I double check this book to see if there’s anything in there. It’s one of the only books on diy I’ve ever needed.
Handbook of basic life skills for a young punk or activist, or anyone without a lot of money.Following some of the advice in this book could
