yesterday a customer walked up to me with two big handfuls of metal spikes and went "do you have a scale??" and i said What and he repeated "a SCALE??? they're sold by the POUND how are you going to charge me" and before i could say anything else his wife goes "they're sold by the PIECE!!!!!!!!!!!" and he turns around and looks back at the sign and goes oh

jumping back and forth between the implications like (1) nails would be sold like vegetables at the grocery store (2) we Would sell them by the pound but not have any means of weighing them like can u imagine. like do u think the kroger cashiers are just eyeballing it
