Being a poet means you will pack your writing full of symbolism and allusions and metaphor and small syntactical and grammatical and diction choices all to create a very dense piece of work

And then someone reading it will pick up on something that you didn’t even intentionally put there

And honestly sometimes that feels even better than someone picking up what you put down because you get to watch someone engage with your work in a completely new and personal way to them

And it reminds you that language is so much more than what it means to you, and that your writing will never die. Nothing you write can be analyzed to death because as long as another soul lives they will read and breathe something new into it and I think that’s beautiful.
