identity politics really took a massive plunge once the ideology surrounding it transformed from “whats a good way to describe my identity/who im attracted to” to “what identites are valid?” (hint: it turned into all of them), which turned from ppl saying “i am a dude and i like dudes, i must be gay” to “im scared of ppl reciprocating my feelings, i must be lithrosexual (and definitely dont have anything to work through with a therapist)” its absolutely insane how “validation” has thrown people into cycles of normalizing their unhealthy habits and symptoms of trauma lol… terfs and truscum dont touch this post also eat a bag of dirt

literally and its evolved to the point that any criticism of unnecessary or even harmful identities is evil or abusive or something like .. making your fears or trauma a core part of your identity doesnt do anything but harm you in the long run bc you ignore glaring issues in favor of “validity”…. sometimes you aren’t lithrosexual you just need a therapist

i know making fun on erika moen is funny and all but i think there’s a real genuine problem with how liberals talk about sex. OJST is pitched as a sex ed resource, presumably for young girls and women. imagine knowing little to nothing about sex and being exposed to this weird, fucked up, often abusive, kink focused horror show. imagine being “educated” into thinking that sex is all about what bizarre shit you like to roleplay as while you’re naked. 

prioritizing “inclusivity” and “tolerance” above all else leads to having no standards about who gets a say on various feminist topics. this is how we get pedos infiltrating LGBT spaces, meetings in feminist and gay spaces that are dominated by the nuances of gray-ace attraction vs demisexual attraction instead of actual issues, and exposing children to situations only serve to that put them at risk. 

escapism is a privilege actually

i don’t participate in fandom to “escape.” i think fandoms are toxic bc they’re riddled with the same problems that plague larger society. it’s only a “safe bubble” and a “site of refuge” for people who decide to leave their empathy & critical thinking faculties at the door when they enter these spaces

oh it’s a “safe space”? from what? at whose expense? i don’t CARE if i ruin your fun or “enjoyment” bc you shouldn’t BE “enjoying” half of the things you so uncritically enjoy anyway. it’s easy to dismiss people’s misgivings and criticisms bc YOU’RE not the one affected by this content. “give people the benefit of the doubt”? they don’t DESERVE benefit of the doubt. things like racism & p*dophilia & transphobia get entrenched in society precisely BECAUSE people let their media manifestations slide. “just let people enjoy things”? what “things”? nobody’s actually stopping you from doing or feeling anything, you just feel threatened, bc deep down you feel guilty. why don’t you ask yourself why

the phrase “inherently queer” gives me fight or flight

the only thing that is inherently queer is gay sex but they’re never talking about gay sex it’s always hamilton

actually, demiplatonic means one only gains “squishes” (platonic crushes) on a person once an emotional bond has naturally formed.

what you have just described is what everyone else in the world calls “making a friend”

the way some of y'all treat lesbians really show how much y'all hate us. a lesbian talking about how lesbophobia makes them feel is NOT the time for you to jump in and accuse them of being a terf because they express distress over "bi lesbians" and like... i hate to burst your bubble but doing that makes you transmisogynistic twice over (because a. you're diminishing the severity of terf as a term and are blatantly misusing it and b. bi lesbian is LITERALLY a term that originated in terf circles to refer to lesbians who date trans women) but you're also lesbophobic because you're tone policing lesbians and berating us for not accepting something that harms us AND you're biphobic because you're supporting and spouting a term that harms bi women by playing into biphobic stereotypes about how bi women "end up picking sides"
