To me it's when a particular person's very presence makes me happy, and I want to bond with them specifically. Sometimes the feeling I get is very similar to how people describe crushes, but I don't really want anything other than being friends.

I think sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference between a bad day and a lifetime experience. (Also, it has been a while since this ask was asked, so I apologize for that.) Even if you call yourself aplatonic now, and after the bad patch has passed you realize it was just that, it doesn't matter. All that matters is going with whatever feels comfortable in the moment, while allowing yourself room to change.

Like I'm also demigrey aroace, so it's not like I'm not used to fluctuations in attraction. But the one day going 'I am so full of platonic/queerplatonic love for this person I feel like I might burst' and the next being like 'I am aware that we are friends and want to continue being friends but have no platonic feelings currently' can still be a bit of a whiplash. There's shades of grey too but I struggle with those in general. And then the added component of 'are these actually my feelings? Or another headmate's?'

That being said, finding the label was an enormous relief. Just like my other aspec labels, it made me no longer feel broken or like I was a bad person for the 'low to zero attraction' times. If I'm being honest, it's one of my favorite labels in my label hoard. It's - I don't ever have to feel platonic attraction! If I do that's fine, I enjoy it when I do, but I also am happy now when I don't! That's just the vastness of the human experience, babeyyyy!

Anyway thank you for your blog. I feel like I've mostly managed to unlearn... is there a word for like internalized allonormativity/amatonormativity but for apl identities? But I didn't realize how desperately I needed a blog just purely about positivity until now. I hope you have an awesome day/night! :D

You may, thank you for your input! You are welcome, I'm glad that this blog has helped, despite the irregularity of my online-ness. I'm not sure if there is such a term for aplatonic-phobia, perhaps internal aplphobia? Honestly, the way language has evolved even since 2017 since I started this blog, leaves me quite blank sometimes!

can you be aplatonic and want a qpr? Because I know some aros want relationships, but it might be different.

I’m asking because I think I might be aplatonic but I want a qpr.

Can some aplatonic people essentially “skip” platonic attraction and only feel romantic? Idk how else to describe this.
