I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

1. I just found out my sexuality, which is very important to me because however sweet and supportive my parents are, they are HUGE homophobes. Anyway, I’m sapiosexual- which means I’m attracted to intelligent people.

2. I have coulrophobia - fear of clowns, after I watched this movie about circus and sad clowns with my mom when I was 5. It only enhanced after I was dared to read IT by Stephen King in fifth grade. 

3. Which brings me to the fact that I hate the number 5. I got scarred by clowns when I was 5, got diagnosed with asthma when I was 5, also suffered from pneumonia when I was 5. My dad got a transfer when I was in 5th grade, which made me sad cause I was leaving so many people behind, but I got back when I turned 13 so. Also this is one of the reasons I don’t answer the ‘state five things about you!” tag games. Sorry to the people who send them to me and I don’t answer! I’m not ignoring you guys :)

4. I say I hate my writing, and I do because whenever I read them after posting them, I find them to be super bland, no matter what people tell me. I’m just self depreciating that way. This post asked me to give five facts and it’s making me sweat lol.

5. I’m normally a disorganised person, but when my mind flips switches I tend to be pretty organized. I see a book out of place? I have to straighten it before I panic.

2. I have studied in 9 schools, including the current school, as my dad gets transferred frequently.

3. The main reason I started reading fanfic was because I used to miss my crush and started reading crush x reader for time pass.

4. I got sorted into Hufflepuff in the wizarding world house sorting in the Web.

5. As of now, my sexuality is straight, but I don’t mind any of my friends or cousin or brother coming out as a part of LGBTQA+ community, if they do.

For the first 3(ish) years of my life I grew up on a military base in New York.

People always think I’m really confident because I’m a good public speaker and I love acting but honestly if you watch close enough whenever I’m speaking just as myself my hands shake.

I have always been seen as the “smart” kid. This has caused me to have huge amounts of anxiety and a need to take on the hardest classes because I feel like I have to otherwise everyone will think my intelligence is a lie.

I get jealous super easily. Like crazy easily even tho I’ll pretend I’m not.

And uh my favorite subjects are Art and English even tho Science and Math are my stronger subjects.

1. I’m half Puerto Rican! Unfortunately I don’t know very much about Puerto Rico because my Grandma and my mom both grew up in the US and my mom never learned Spanish or anything, but I do feel like it’s a big part of who I am anyway.

2. I have 16 pets! 6 cats (outside), 3 dogs, 2 bearded dragons, 3 hermit crabs (my brother’s), and a fish (my little sister’s)! At one point we had 17 cats but we had to take some of them to the animal shelter because we couldn’t afford to keep them all :(

3. I’ve got 5 younger siblings! We’re all homeschooled right now but mom is most likely going to let me and my sister go to public school for Junior and Senior year (this year and next year). We’re touring the school sometime this week and I’m super excited!

4. I play ukulele! I’ve been playing for almost 3 years now. I started because I really loved twenty one pilots and wanted to be able to play their songs, and because I’ve wanted a guitar since I was little but I am to short to play one comfortably XD. I’ve gotten pretty good if I do say so myself!

5. I discovered fanfiction through The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I was looking for quizzes about it and I found Quotev, and then I saw that there was Percy Jackson fanfiction and I read that shit constantly. I eventually moved to Wattpad because my school WiFi had Quotev blocked, and then onto Ao3 because I preferred the quality, format, and diversity on there. I occasionally venture onto Wattpad for the Rae Hood series but that’s it.

1.) I have five parents. There’s my biological mom and dad, my step mom, and then my two step dads. I’m only used to being with my biological/step mom though, since they’re more approachable than the fairly absent and distant men in my life…

2.) I play the viola! I got into orchestra in the 6th grade and I’ve been playing for four years. It’s my favorite, but I also dabble around in playing cello, bass, and violin (tbh violin is easier for me to do vibrato)

3.) It took me a couple of months to realize I was trans. A lot of things were confusing for me, but I was to scared to tell anyone because I grew up in a pretty religious family. But eventually everything clicked one by one, and now everything is a bit better now that I know. And so…so fucking dysphoric…

4.) I absolutely LOVE meat. I grew up in a Southern family that cooked a lot, and we almost always had something on the grill or chicken frying in a pan, and it was like heaven. Ribs and steak are my favorite.

5.) Libraries and bookstores are my favorite places to hang out. I like to go in and lose complete track of time hehe

When i first started browsing the internet, i didn‘t want to tell too much about myself but (as you can see haha) this is not the case anymore

1. I can‘t choose a favourite colour, because ever since i started learning about colour theory, i view them very differently. As for colour palettes I love to combine colours that mean polar opposite things

2. I get told that i am mature a lot. I doubt it tho

3. Only recently i thought about all the stages in my past life where my mental health could have taken a turn for the worse and i am just very grateful that it didn‘t and that i left certain people and places

4. I don‘t fear death, i fear the grief my family and friends will have to experience

5. My birthday is on the 24th of July (or written 24/7) which i find funny because it literally means 24 hours a day 7 days a week

So here goes nothing.

1. My mum’s English has an American accent to it, my father’s English has almost no accent at all and mine is vaguely British? I don’t know why, but I don’t mind it.

2. The two older of my younger siblings each have one less letter in their name than their next older sibling (I have 9, my brother has 8, my sister has 7).

3. My favourite scent is that of rosemary.

4. I got my interest in history from my dad’s side of the family, and my love for puns from my mum’s side.

5. I love cooking and baking, but I rarely have the energy for it at the moment.

learn to balance being involved and taking a breather or you WILL burn out. we all cannot be ON 24/7. you are not a bad person for not being involved always. you can be aware and learn, but change is both quick and slow. we will be learning and changing through our whole lives. it’s okay to approach it at your own pace.

walk in protests AND walk on hikes. read commentaries and stories and anthologies and hear of struggles and pain AND read mysteries and action packed thrillers and cheesy romance novels. watch the heartbreaking documentaries and face dark subjects AND watch comedy shows and horror films and whatever you have saved on Netflix.

turn off the constant mind numbing sensationalized media and news. get off Twitter and tumblr and tiktok. just take a moment to breathe, to write down your thoughts, and to think and make a game plan for the future. what issue is really, really important to you? what do you want to learn more about?

Last week India passed a blatantly anti-Muslim law that seeks to naturalise millions of immigrants, except if they are Muslims.

In August of this year, India revoked the autonomous status of the Kashmir region, putting a communication blackout on the state. Kashmir has entered the fifth month of no internet and heaviest militarisation of any region in the world.

India is a secular, socialist republic. This bill is anti-constitutional and against the principles on which the country was founded

Naturally, there have been protests across the country. At the forefront of the protests are students from India's public universities.

Police opened fire on peaceful protestors in Jamia Milia Islamia University in Delhi, and Aligarh Muslim University in Uttar Pradesh.

Ever since then, the ruling fascist Hindu nationalist political party, the BJP, has been doctoring videos and sending fake news all over the internet, discrediting protestors and labelling them as terrorists

Erika Ishii has suggested, if you’re able, to honor his memory with a donation to Magic Wheelchair, a nonprofit org that creates epic costumes and fx for kids in wheelchairs at no cost to their family.

Be mindful of the content you’re putting on your social media accounts. Stop retweeting/reposting violent images and videos of black people dying. Know that content like this, even with trigger warnings included, can be very emotionally disturbing/distressing and yes, even traumatic, for black people navigating the internet right now.

Report any images and videos you see where protestors’ faces are visible/unblurred, particularly in content surrounding the lootings. Don’t retweet or repost these images and videos. This can be a death sentence.
