btmc's hot take debate stream is genius in that it's an infinite content machine designed to ragebait you regardless of your stance

every hot take is so vaguely worded that any interpretation could have its own debate but the average person is so bad at arguing (esp when put on the spot) that it doesn't matter anyway because chatters (and eventually youtube commenters) will be writing out their counterarguments or how they could've done better instead of bothering with laying down the ground rules

plus chat could just vote for whichever option will make ed suffer more instead of their actual opinion

i lowkey respect btmc for doubling down & sticking to osu no matter what because i'd honestly do the same thing. the problem imo is that osu casuals don't watch anyone other than him & don't care about anyone other than the people they're nostalgic for. unless reesewashere or niceflesh etc come back from the dead, the only person who's able to reach out to that wider audience & still cares enough about the game to do so is btmc

i know i keep saying this but the mainstream knowledge gap between legacy acts and post-covid players makes it impossible for anyone starting after 2021 to do jack shit. the biggest problem with osu content isn't that nobody is doing it, it's that the biggest audience for it are so trapped in their nostalgia bubbles they'd rather rewatch old whitecat videos a dozen times than learn about any other content creator besides the handful they grew up with

every time mrekk discusses osu content creation he always makes a point about how people should make the content they want to see & welcome new creators but then he just keeps glazing btmc and contemplating getting jynxzi to play osu as if it's the only solution while chat whines about how they want abc content creator to come back

mrekk says it's the "community's" fault for pushing ccs away when it's literally just one guy that btmc never made a main channel video with and then 5 minutes later randoms are complaining about how toxic the "community" is holy shit i feel like i'm hitting my head against a fucking wall does nobody have even a shred of self-awareness

yapping about btmc's "arg"/puzzle thing so far:

this stream's title is the unix timestamp for june 2nd 16utc

at june 2nd 16utc he started up this stream, which was just a job application form with other elements added in every once in a while

2h in he places his phone broadcasting him playing osu via discord

after another 2h he takes the phone away and replaces it with this note

the stream continues with zero changes for another 4h until it ended on june 3rd 00:05 utc

so far his clips channel has been posting normal clips from his previous streams rather than his most recent one. every video after "t:1780416000:F" (i have to copy w/o brackets because otherwise the text just disappears) is slowly spelling out "-osu! job"

it's currently 4:41 am in los angeles (as of writing) so he should be going live in 4 hours and 19 minutes
