An awesome sci-fi series I recommend is the Imperial Radch trilogy by Ann Leckie (one of my fave sci-fi series, it's about AI autonomy in an intergalactic empire)! I've also been re-reading the Eragon books by Chrisopher Paolini which are some really good high-fantasy!

omg i’ve actually read the first of that series and translation state i should continue that trilogy thank you for reminding me it exists…. my husband devoured all of those books and i kept having to stop and restart reading translation state because it was so harrowing to me for whichever reason

eragon i haven’t tried reading since i was ~10 and i remember it not being my thing but maybe i’ll give it another shot it might be nice to read something like that right now
