• I speak Finnish as first language and a bit of Spanish/Castellano and ofc English

• I was only born in South-Africa, didn't get raised there, so if you want to hear from a person who's born and raised in South-Africa this isn't the right profile

• I use the terms real mom and real dad to irritate my adoptive parents when I talk about my biological family. Most adoptees don't like these terms, but I use them and it's okay for me if someone refers to my biological parents as my real parents.

• I don't hesitate to block people. I'm sorry, I know I am petty, the reason is usually just the fact I don't like someone's tone.

• I like music and listening to new music, I can take recommendations. But just a warning, I procrastinate listening to new music a lot if they're recommendations because I have to be in right mood to listen new artist

• I've also found the joy of watching movies and series, so if you have recommendations, feel free to tell. Will prefer ones where white people or Americans aren't main characters

• I've started crocheting this spring (26), so if you have tips or easy crocheting processes for beginners please tell me 🩷

• I was raised and believing Christian, I don't believe in zodiacs, energies, predictions of the future, crystals, any new-age things, occult science or pseudo science in general. I do believe in different divine creatures such as angels, demons and spirits but I really don't have clear Bible and classical Christianity based understanding of spirits and angels.

And try to use «Well, do you wish all the orphans waiting to be adopted won't get homes?« when adoptees say they wish (international and interracial) adoption would stop.

Of course not. Children need homes and families, but adopting them to strange people and strange culture is just the worst option. I personally wish some day there won't be any more kids who have to go through what I and other adopted Afro-Finns have gone through. I hope every child who's been adopted could get connection to their roots: biological family, ethnic group and their birth country.

I hope no woman or let alone girl should have to go through so difficult choices such as giving up their children. Having to live with the fact she'll most likely never meet her own child, she has a child but doesn't know where the child is and what's going on in the kid's life.

My point is even in children's medias separation from own kind and own parents are seen as a bad thing. But as adoptees we are assumed and maybe even pressured to be grateful for the thing everyone sees as misfortune. People see adoption as a bad, unfortunate thing and everyone is happy it didn't happen to them but adoptees should be grateful for their adoptive parents for adopting them.
