Birth mom right to privacy.

Sorry, I disagree with this. Adoptees don't get a choice in the matter. If a birth mom doesn't want a relationship, that's fine, but refusing to share where we came from in the name of privacy is wrong. Every adoptee is entitled to know where they came from.

If birth mom doesn't want to be found or wants privacy, then she needs to understand adoptee rights.

There's no reason why adoptees have to suffer at the choices of others. We adoptees have every right to know where we came from, no matter how hard it is to know the truth.

I believe every child deserves a home and love. I do not believe that means we should sell them to the highest bidders.

We should be working to abolish adoption unless absolutely necessary. There should be no reason to just sell a child to strangers.

The connotation of the word "adoption" is "child got a new home and adults got a new child" (creepy, eh? But for some reason we praise it)

The connotation of foster care is "child was in a bad home and needs a new one"

We treat adoption and foster care as these two separate things. Why? Because the buyers only want fresh babies. They don't want children who know their real families and have real trauma (babies don't have trauma!).

I don't know my adoption story.

I refuse to let it be that white people wanted a baby so they bought one.

That's their story.

It's not mine.

The fact that I only know half of why I am in this stupid fucking country (the buyers purchased me) is the most ridiculous thing ever.

Why was I actually abandoned or torn away from my family

If an adoption was truly child centered the story would ALWAYS start with

"{child} needed a home".

It would NEVER start with

"I always wanted to adopt"

"I couldn't have my own"

No one understands the value of money more than adoptees. Money allows you to legally kidnap children and openly celebrate it.

In what world does that make sense?
