Ok, I want to share a secret so it’s not a secret anymore. I’m going to tell you what will automatically make me reblog art, at any time, no matter what. If I don’t like it, I’ll still reblog it. Absolutely, every single time.
Have a fucking image description in the post. That’s it. Not in the alt text, I can’t see it in the alt text, and neither can anyone else who doesn’t use a screen reader. A description, a transcript, anything. In the main post next to what it describes.
I will hit that damn button so fast, just POOF, whether or not I actually care for the art. Because I see them so rarely, and every undescribed image is something that *I* will have to either write a description for, with my very limited spoons, or just reblog knowing I am excluding people that I could have included instead.
Put. The fucking. Image description. In. Your post. You are actively limiting your potential consumer base! If people don’t know what your art looks like, they are not going to buy it/ redbubble it/ commission it.
You’re now overcome with a burning desire to write image descriptions?! But you don’t know how! Well, there’s a great post right here with info and tips. I hope it helps <3
