To say that Kanej's relationship is asexual is the height of stupidity, there are several passages in duology where both Kaz and Inej make it clear how much they want to touch each other, kiss each other. Kaz admits that he has been attracted to some girls. You need to understand that having touch trauma does not mean that the person is from the ace community. Kanej has such deep traumas that are exposed throughout the books and yet there are people who have not understood anything.
