HAECO and CALC plan Hong Kong engine lifecycle support platform

HAECO and China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings (CALC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of an engine lifecycle support platform in Hong Kong.

The proposed platform will initially focus on engine quick-turn services, hospital repair, and engine asset management. The companies also plan to examine the use of used serviceable material (USM) to support engine maintenance and improve asset utilisation.

StandardAero wins $342M US Air Force T56 engine MRO contract

StandardAero has secured a position on a new US Air Force contract to provide depot-level maintenance for Rolls-Royce T56 engines, modules, and components used on C-130 aircraft.

The 10-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a maximum value of $342.2 million. StandardAero will provide T56 engine maintenance support for C-130 aircraft operated by the US Air Force, US Navy, and Foreign Military Sales customers.

The scope includes engine repair and overhaul, module maintenance and component repair, supporting the long-term sustainment of the C-130 fleet.

Last-minute Aviator ML settlement delays rulings on seven remaining aircraft lessor petitions

India’s National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has ordered fresh hearings in seven insolvency petitions filed by aircraft lessors against SpiceJet after a last-minute settlement with one creditor forced the tribunal to set aside a judgment that had already been prepared, extending one of the country’s longest-running airline-lessor disputes.

The tribunal had reserved orders covering eight insolvency petitions, but the withdrawal of Aviator ML 29641 Ltd’s petition following a settlement meant the judgment could no longer be delivered in its existing form. With one member of the special bench retiring, the tribunal said there was insufficient time to rewrite the ruling, resulting in all remaining matters being transferred for fresh consideration before the regular bench.

L3Harris to supply electronic warfare systems for Peru’s F-16 Fleet

L3Harris Technologies will supply its Viper Shield electronic warfare (EW) system for Peru’s F-16 Block 70 fleet as part of the country’s aircraft acquisition program.

The system will provide the F-16s with electronic warfare capabilities to detect and counter radar, missile, and other electronic threats. It will be integrated into the new Block 70 aircraft and can also support future aircraft upgrades.

STS Aviation Services has received GCAA CAR-145 C6 Equipment Rating approval from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) for its Dubai CommerCity facility.

The approval, issued under GCAA CAR-145 Approval Number UAE.145.0101, allows the facility to carry out approved component maintenance activities within the C6 equipment category.

Scheipers brings nearly seven years of experience within the MTU Aero Engines Group, where he has held several leadership roles across portfolio management, engine leasing and asset trading. Before taking on the new role, he served as Head of Portfolio Management, Asset Manager, GE90 Lease Manager, ePool, and Junior Lease Manager.
