What I find most funny about shadow slave is that yes humanity finally overcame misogyny, toxic masculinity (main characters being literally being short king somewhat a househusband and still being most deadly (ha.) Man on earth, kai literally without problem asking sunny what skin products he uses likes its most normal thing ever (it is) ) NOCTIS in his ancient time going around with nail Polish (and liner to??? But idk if that really happend or my hcs get meshed up) toxic feminine and gender disputes, (dont even get me started on weaver ) homophobia ( that is not outright stated and we do not have any canonically queer characters but come on most of the cast is outright bi or pan bcs litteraly EVERYBODY around is drop dead gorgeous which makes it very easy to switch sides, and nobody really cares about gender/sex rules cares atp), religious/national and racial disputes (for obvious reasons)

And only thing that was needed was end of the world and a fucking apocalypse, lmao.

Not to be a downer, but my impression is that it's less that humanity has overcome sexism and more that awakened women are exempt from it (for obvious and practical reasons). The way the handmaidens appeared on the surface implies some misogyny and Effie's teasing of how Sunny wearing dresses indicates the culture isn't that far from our own.

So intresting thing I noticed in the recent Centuria chapter.

Elstri has gotten more comfortable with physical contact with Helem. Despite this being a transactional arrangement, I think the Prophetess is slowly growing to have genuine affection for the Necromancer. It's also been well established that Helem loves tormenting people and hates families, so I await with dreadful anticipation the moment when Helem breaks Elstri's heart.

I still think it's really stupid that there are four sefirah with powers related to fate in the LotM world. That's too many. Having two in the first book was enough. Not to mention the needless introduction of the Patriarch pathway, which has the same symbolism as a bunch of other pathways (especially Abyss).

That said, I didn't really mind Uncertain Mist, Condenser, Second Law, Tail-devourer, sublunary eye, everlasting and chaos progenitor. Most of them are original enough.

Now I'm imagining a world where every sefirah has fate powers. Since if you think about it, what is a god if not a being that decides fate?

The horror of the backrooms is the endless, empty, corporate mundanity. The endless boredom. The idea that you will never escape the hell dimension that is commercial office space. The soul-sucking, bottomless abyss of capitalism. You are a cog in the machine, as valueless as the dingy carpet and yellow walls, present among them and yet treated no differently.

"Making it more interesting" with a monster or threat takes away from that banal horror.

Survival-themed cyberpunk RPG where instead of weapons having durability, you need to purchase subscriptions for each of your weapons, which deplete based on how much damage you inflict. Hit points exist in-universe as a value calculated by your weapons' built-in biometric scanners to meter subscription usage. You can top up a weapon's subscription credits at conveniently located kiosks, or "bank" extra credits beyond a given weapon's rated capacity by carrying gift cards.

If you hurt someone by hitting them with a rock or some other non-networked object, this is a serious felony – not because of the violence, but because due to a series of obscure legal precedents, using an object with no associated weapon subscription to cause measurable harm counts as circumventing copy protection.

What about beating someone to death with a firearm? Is that considered jailbreaking?

Assuming the gun has a linked weapon subscription, it just deducts from your credits in the usual fashion. Remember, you're being charged per hit point of damage inflicted, not per shot fired; the biometric monitors don't care how you inflicted them, as long as it was done using a weapon with an up-to-date subscription.

(Of course, the trick is, if you're firing the gun, it can helpfully prevent you from going over your credit limit by refusing to chamber the next round. If you're just pistol-whipping people senseless, you need to keep an eye on the readout manually!)

What if I use the gun to shoot an explosive barrel or to break the support of the roof that the enemy was standing under? Is that a felony like with a rock or does it try to calculate how much hit points were inflicted?

I appreciate all the post-canon romantic fanfic of dungeon meshi, but what I really want to see is all the politics and administrative bullshit the revived Kingdom has to deal with. There is so much potential there.

Falin probably spends some time a wandering exorcist and healer, becouse she doesn't have many responsibilites and those are her skills. She's slightly a dragon, sister of the new and already legendary king, and probably doesn't take any money for the serves becouse she doesn't need it. Unless the right precautions are taken, she's going to be considerd a saint, demigod or some other religiously segnificant figure. Cults venerating Falin will be a problem for Marcille specifically for the rest of her life.

Since we know that Laios gets really invested into agriculture, and since he knows that's bad for PR if he discusses his monster hyperfixation, he's going to come off (perhaps not entirely inaccuratly) as a country bumpkin to visiting royalty when he starts info-dumping about crop cycles. Much to the frustration of Kabru, but he's a smart cookie he can work this to the Kingdom's advantage which would be an intresting thing to watch.

We know Leed will probably attempt to become Laios's consort, despite not wanting it. There is so much possibility for comedy and drama there. By what methods does Leed attempt to seduce Laios? Does Laios romantically like her? Does she grow to like him? Does Leed work with or against Kabru to secure her people's citizenship? Laios isn't going to throw the orcs to the wolves, but there are any number of ways they can gain a secured position in the Golden Kingdom.

As far as I can tell there are three main demographics of people that the new Golden Kingdom will have. The people who have been living on the surface on the island, the people stuck in the dungeon and the minority group of orcs. How do you keep all of these people from being at odds with each other? Kabru will have the most fun and stress in the world trying to figure that one out.

Marcille trying to figure out if Laios's curse will hold after he's death, becouse if it does not then the anti-monster field around him will vanish with him requiring the Kingdom to setup a military.

Speaking of which, how the fuck are they going to prevent a succession crisis?

Kahka Brud is no longer a port. Dungeons are also no longer a thing. It means that there's a big population of half-foots and dwarves that have just lost their main livelihoods juuuust on the border of Melini. Now dwarves have a rather structured society but half-foots moved to Kahka Brud and the former Island of Melini specifically to work in dungeons. What is going to happen to them? Will they be allowed to establish a settlement?

In the manga it looks like what's left of the population of Melini can fit like around two big feast tables and they are also disappearing but a) is this really the case? B) that leads to a problem with redistribution of lands. Who has the deeds to the land? They're probably all hosted in the castle with some luck, but is there anybody left?

Marcella is an half-elf which we know the elf queen does NOT like. Also there's the whole matter that Melini has already an elven envoy but they border dwarven territory and their main dwarven contacts at this point are Namari (family in disgrace which is a big deal to dwarves) and Senshi (an hermit who most dwarves who even knew him probably think is dead). We know the long-lived races have given up on Melini only temporarily.

What about kobolds. Will Melini have a policy against the enslavement of demi-humans. Will this lead to an immigration chain of kobolds to the land. How will Kabru deal with it considering. In the last panel we see a baby kobold and a baby orc playing which makes me hope they find a way to make it work but I want to know the details

WHAT ABOUT THE DWARVES IM SO WORRIED ABOUT THE DWARVES

I'm going to take the kobold and orc babies at the end as a sign of Melini being a relatively inclusive kingdom. Also remember that one of Kabru's party members is Kuro the kobold, and in one of the side-comics it's established that Kabru knows his language. There might be difficulties but I'm sure that freak's love of people will overcome his prejudice of kobolds.

My "he would not fucking say that" is when people have Senshi hate on fast food or pizza, because Senshi is fully a "fed is better, just do your best" type of person and hed love fast food.

Man spends a day making candy and ice cream for everyone and then at the end is like "dang, really should have planned more well rounded meals, ah well lets fix that". He would not complain about someone knocking back half a pizza or having a big ass soda and greasy burger, hed explain how its cool to eat like that long as you try and make sure to keep yourself rounded and not neglect the food groups

I think "fed is better, just do your best" is slightly underselling it. Senshi has survived as a subsistance farmer, by himself, in a hostile enviroment, for years, after nearly starving to death. He's keenly away that having any food at all isn't garanteed.

From the latest episode of Sanda I can tell that Paru has thought a good deal of time about what Santa Instincts imply and what sort of wierd edge cases might come from it and what that may mean symbolically. I love that the answer she arrived to the question of "Would Santa feel compelled to preform self-harm if a child wished for it it?" is a resounding "Of course!"

Klein talking about having gotten metaphorically burned from seeing mythical creature forms often enough that he doesn't immediately go insane when he sees one again feels like training yourself to be immune to poison and I think that is fucking hilarious

Which makes sense with the rules of the setting because when you think about it, sequence potions are basically injecting yourself with divinity in controlled doses so you don't explode.
