There's something beautiful about Max standing on that podium in Abu Dhabi 2025, having won the race but lost the championship. He pushed to the limit with all his might and overcame a deficit never overcome before. It was so incredible but still not quite enough. Losing a championship by 2 points but winning the most races that season. Now watching it back, to see him taking it all in for one last time at the top, taking a mental picture, knowing what he can and can't do, what is in his control and what isn't and maybe what's coming down the line in the future and what isn't. There's winning in losing and losing in winning.

no shade no hate but it will forever baffle me that landoscar got 10x bigger than dando ever did and there are several factors for that (it took them a while to fully settle into friendship, the hate boner for lando and everyone was withdrawing from ten lines of maxiel and carlando cocaine) but the gravitas of their relationship to one another was lost upon you hoes. two entirely different personalities, 10 years apart in age. expectations around them were wonky but they really figured out how to like each other. like daniel taught lando how to style his hair. they got into photography together and made matching accounts that would sometimes feature photo dumps of only each other. there’s a six min video of lando laughing on daniel’s phone. any on screen communication btwn them is indecipherable really it’s just gibberish and inside jokes. they flew back and forth from races together and shared music and playlists. in the break after daniel and mclaren split lando came to daniel’s fucking house and rode dirt bikes with him. allegedly they played cards together in a burger joint. one time after a challenge vid they went to media day covered in temporary tattoos of one another and lando told the media about daniel being in pain from trying to scrub the tattoos off. he said “that’s what daniel gets for trying to get rid of me.” like. like!!! lando was the last person to leave the paddock because he was talking to daniel for hours after daniel’s last race. despite it being the race where daniel prevented lando from getting a grand slam. like. despite all the drama w mclaren and etc they became genuine friends in such a profound way. we don’t even know when they hang out with each other now until one of them brings it up a few months after it happens. do you see. do you even a little bit understand. do you get it at all
