The most luscious of all water signs. An evolved Cancer is something to ruthlessly protect and defend, and the make defeat their fuel. They’re the epitome of feminine beauty. It says: come, share ur genes with me! Drop dead gorgeous. Attractiveness through exaggeration. Interesting blend of vulnerability and strength. Annoyingly moody. With the women, the most common traits are big eyes and a Cleopatra body type. Could be always seen as good-looking; that is, she may not be your type, your pheromones don’t kick, but your brain has recognized her as eligible Tend to have paler skin and dark hair. Fleshy. Gives a touch of sentimentality to everything. The men however are just hottest in this sign. I don’t know what to think of it. Oddly hot? Messed up hot? Either way I dig it. In a way, I view Cancers as the most accurate portrayal of men (hear me out) because social/body language/psychologists suggest when wanting to have a serious talk with a man, talk to him while sitting side by side instead of in front. This has to do with the fact a confrontation feels more threatening and challenging to men when being faced head on. When you’re literally “on their side” they feel more at ease. One rather admirable trait - at least for me - that stems paradoxically from Cancer’s inability to be direct, is these people often have a great, if not quirky, sense of humour. Just be watchful - they often resort to humour as a indirect way of expressing how they really think without risking being offensive. They don’t seem to be very “logical” (even though they often show an intellectual side) and can say hurtful things at the drop of a hat. Don’t underestimate their cardinality…they can definitely be aggressive.
Cancer is a very self-protective sign, they don’t open up easily and can be quite defensive. Cancer is naturally passive-aggressive - it’s priority is self-protection, even if that means self-concealment, not unlike a crab burying themselves in sand. Cancer also prefers understanding through intuition and expression through emotion. The best way to talk to them, from what I’ve seen, is to take a calm, “reasonable” and yet emotional tone. If you start arguing, they’re likely to fight back or withdraw (and good luck for pulling them out of their shell). Oh, but a lot of them can be manipulative and play the victim. Depends on their level of maturity. The two MAIN Cancer self-defense tactics are 1) being dismissive and 2) being sarcastic (both traits Cancer shares with its polarity Capricorn). These traits are far worse, it seems, if the Cancer has a lot of air in their chart (self-drag here), or has strong Mercurial influence otherwise. Cancer is tempted by the notion that we are one with everything, a limitless ocean; but without boundaries, the ocean overflows, often with destructive consequences. At its best, though, the Cancer experience is one of pure enchantment. I admire Cancer as I admire water, for its quickness and its stillness, its adaptability and shape-shifting abilities. There is nothing weak about Cancers, as many astrologers (and many more non-astrologers) love to claim. Instead, Cancer watches from a distance and determines the best point of attack. Cancer, also, many times seems the quiet type, who’s sweet and kind. But know this: when Cancer is in a relationship, and feels comfortable, there is no one who can manipulate you and your feelings like Cancer can (except, maybe, Pisces). The way a Cancer does this is to play cold and walk away until you follow. Cancer knows that this always works in human nature and has this move down to a science. They’re strong because they’ll get you to come to them without any effort on their part. Cancers are ten times craftier than they appear. They’re incredibly good at hiding this side of themselves. They’re so adept at playing along with you, and being “on your side,” that you won’t even know what hit you when they use something—something you’ve told them—against you, in the future.
Know this: Cancers will test you. All Cancers know how to test and how to get the answer they’re looking for at the moment. If you’re smart enough, you’ll recognize this and pass the test. If not, Cancer will turn away without warning and find someone worthier of their affections. We’re dreamers like Pisces: but we’re dreamers with a vision. Most Cancers know what they want and go after it with a kind of slow, methodical gait. Eventually, most of them get what they want, even if it takes time. But Cancers instinctively know how best to get the most out of their astonishingly calm composure and patience. We’re the most flexible cardinal sign and as such, can usually pull out this grab bag of talents at will. We can be a little mysterious like Scorpio, insert the commanding attitude like Aries, be money-oriented and crave security like Taurus, be ambitious like Capricorn, be funny like Sagittarius, be the good-looking charmer like Libra, be unique like Aquarius, and act the part of smooth-talker like Gemini. Cancer has a hard time hiding disdain for those he truly doesn’t like, and more often than not turns up their nose at anyone who doesn’t meet their standards like Virgos. Cancer has a regal air about him like Leo. While Leo is more of the caring, noble set, Cancer has a proud, capable, and studious air about him, which, try as he may, he cannot shake. Cancers are intelligent and sympathetic. Don’t ever confuse sympathetic with empathetic, though. Contrary to popular belief, Cancers will not feel your particular brand of sadness, though they seem to. Cancers, while caring, are a cardinal sign after all, and as such, are inherently selfish. Instead, he’s likely to bring you out of the despair by “understanding” your plight and giving you good advice for it. But the sadness he shows you will never reach his heart. However, there is no one like a Cancer to give you good advice. Aries may be good at it, but he orders you around while doing so. His words are more command and “truth” than suggestion. Gemini is good at it, but usually comes up with the overly aggressive way. Instead, Cancer will put the idea into your head and let you come up with the solution. This is, indeed, most effective and one of Cancer’s best traits.
They enjoy entertaining at home because it’s where they feel most comfortable, surrounded by all that’s familiar to them. They feel comfortable around water, too. From the fluidity and calmness of water springs their vivid, fantastical imaginations. Cancers are “idea” people—and can truly explain any strange, unusual, or outrageous concept to you. The ability to read people and be a good judge of character helps in conflict resolution. Cancers aren’t crybabies so much as they are often a still placid lake that can either keep you afloat or drag you to down to the depths of hell depending on their weird ass moods. They’re the most human out of all the signs in the zodiac and this unabashed humanity, paradoxically, inspires distrust and disdain from everyone else. Again, we ain’t for everybody but if you actually have the looks and the strength and the smarts to actually be with one, you won’t get a better person in all the zodiac. So, Cancers, don’t try to show off with your skills though because many people have no understanding of Cancerian waters…it seems like uncharted territory. Always use your skills to your advantage and make them work for you - but don’t show off or explain yourself to others. The same people who are skeptical when you show off about a skill - like being a good judge of character… are the people who will ask you, in sheer astonishment: “WoW how did you know that would happen?” - after the event…or “WoW how did you even manage to get us out of this mess? I thought we were gone!!” So honestly don’t bother explaining anything. Just be who you are and use your gifts and skills as everyone else does. The rest of the world is not really on a need to know basis. Magicians never give away their tricks without good reason.
