The man is flinching backwards, his arms cringing inwards. His eyes are wide and locked on Jasnah, and his mouth is open in shock. He has tan skin, a thin moustache, short brown hair, a white shirt tucked into tight green pants, and tall boots. There’s a knife strapped to his thigh, still in its sheath. Fire erupts from his body, each flickering flame large enough to seriously burn. Flames the size of his head are licking his feet, calves, thigh, back, and arm. The flames blow upwards and away from Jasnah, and the man’s shoulders and head are burning bright and tall, flaring so suddenly that his clothes and hair don’t even look burned yet.
Shallan stands behind Jasnah, crouched forward, her mouth open in disbelief as she stares at the man on fire. She is wearing a green havah, the overdress splitting below the hip, with green skirts underneath, and black ballet style shoes. Her hair is pulled back at the front in braids that join a half bun at the back of her head; the rest of her hair falls just past her shoulders in auburn waves. Her freehand is a tight fist in front of her, as though she’s holding herself back from reaching out; her shocked face is lit by the flames. End ID.]
