Me: Hmmm... what about an AU where Sun and Moon are inquisitors trying to get their hands at Y/N who they assume is a witch/witcher, but they get end up cursed by falling into a fairy pond and have to share one body with a more grotesque form now. *trying to draw a design for that* Finished product after the thrid attempt: ??? *some kind of knight Eclipse* Me: That... doesn't quite fit my first idea... Rough story idea: Y/N is a newbie adventurer and mage. They honestly, aren't really well cut out for the job. And while traveling a storm was brewing. So they took shelter at a nearby abandoned-looking castle to wait it out. As they passed by the rows of old armors in the hallway, they did not notice how the helmet of one spun slowly around, two gleaming lights inside of it following their tracks.

I woke this this morning to this comment left on one of my fics

I was half asleep so it took me a bit to realise that this is a scammer.

It seems that scammers have learn from their obvious tells in the past.

Previously, scammers would leave vague comments from guest accounts before asking if you’d like to commission some art from them.

Now, it seems like they are starting to create AO3 accounts and are feeding either fic or tags into an AI to pump out a summary before offering the commission.

Here’s the scammer’s profile. Note the description (which seems to be the same for every account posting these comments) and the recent join date.

I received another comment this evening for the exact same scam, just a different profile.

This is a reminder! These are scams preying on the desire to have your fic illustrated and will not deliver! They will either take your money and run or give you something AI generated and will not accept any refunds!

Remember to block and report these comments so the abuse team can stop these scammers in their tracks!

Welcome to our Aquarium! (Mermay master post)

Here at Cove Aquariums and research we take pride in rescuing many different types of aquatic animals but out specialty is Mer-creatures, come see our roster of 'sea monsters' otherwise known as celestials.

A quick key:

Name- their name obviously.

Age- there stage of growth, juvenile or mature.

Mer type- the kind of mer creature they are, Celestial is the class, lunar/solar/eclipse are the variations.

Mimic species- the type of fish they look like.

Length- from their head to tail in iches(") or feet(').

Health- their current health condition from Excellent to Critical.

Habitat- their current tank/location in the aquarium.

Origin- where they came from and how.

Daycare- the name of a group of Celestial mers therefore their group members.

First up lets meet our mini Celestials.

These are our Clown fish Celestials.

Sunny

Sunny is The First Celestial Mer to become a resident of our Aquarium, He and one other Celestial were found by some divers at a dying reef, they were malnorished and in need of our help. Sunny is far too freindly to be let back into the wild unfortunately. He obsessively cleans his tank and loves collecting shiny things.

Moon-Moon

Moon-Moon is the other Celestial that was found in that dying reef, we kept an eye on the reef the night we found Sunny because wherever there is one Celestial their opposite will always be near by.

Clips

Clips is our only Eclipse type Celestial in at the Aquarium. He was found mixed in a net with the days catch, they only spotted him after they'd arrived at the port, he unfortunately was sat on ice for a while and even with the fishermans quick-thinking of putting him in a cup of sea water, he still had some bad frostbite, he never fully recoved from but he gets along swimmingly with his tank mates Sunny and Moon-moon.

Now on to our Betta fish.

We have two Betta's at our aquarium.

Moon

This is Moon our Blue Betta, he was confiscated from a pet shop, the shop owner swore he didn't know they were Celestials and that he didn't know it was illigal to sell them but he also kept them hidden in the back so we're inclined not to belive him but had to leave him with a warning, lets hope he doesn't find any more.

Sun

Sun was also found at that Pet shop, it's good to know even the pet shops know that a Celestial Mer can't survive without being in a pair. We're just thankful the dreadfull water quality in the tiny tank the pair was in didn't do any lasting harm.

Now to our Bigger Celestials

We have had the opportunity to rescue a handful of Larger Celestials Including Two sharks and Two Octopodes.

Ray (of sunshine)

Ray was the first of our Large Celestials that we have rescued, he was separated from his daycare during a storm and trapped in a cave. Thankfully the tags we put on the Celestials in the area norified us of his distress. We were able to quickly rescue him and treat his injured tail which had been crushed by the rocks that blocked his escape.

Neo(n)

Neo is our Kitefin shark Also know as a Cookiecutter shark. He was resued from an attack by the fishing village on the island Lassthio in the archipelago just off Sirens cove shore. they are rather hostile to mers he sustained many injuries but we got there in time notified by a local who tiped us on the attack.

The octopodes

Arian and Aur are some of our newest arivals to the aquarium and our first octopodes, they were saved from a drift net (possibly planted by the fishermen hostile towards mers) and taken in by our newest employee who just so happens to be an expert on octopodes, seeing as we were unfortunately not equipt to handle these rare Mer creatures it was perfect timing.

I will try to keep this updated, most of these mers make an appearance in my fanfic 'Another Great Day Of Saving The Sharks.' The octopodes however are from a rp with my freind @pureangleda and might eventually make an apperence?

I need every single person to understand how horrible tumblr’s tagging system is

I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.

Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.

Here’s proof of what I mean:

Sun perks up, "Me? Oh ho ho, well, if you insist, Sunshine!"

He's not the one most people would pick, but he's more than willing. Brushing off your clothes a bit before he starts, he mumbles, "Have to have a clean little snack, yes indeed."

Once he's satisfied with his tidying of you, he gives you a kiss on the head, "Alright, just relax and we'll get cozy."

4. Do they have an accent or dialect?

- To humans, its all the same. Moon sounds like an owl. Sun sounds like a harpy eagle. But to other harpies, they do have a more "country-fied" accent. They didn't stay in the bigger flock with the others and developed what other harpies would find more rural mannerisms.

10. Do they need their hands occupied a lot? If so, what do they do?

- Honestly, not really! Harpies use their hands mainly for tearing into food, holding onto surfaces, and attacks. Thats not to say they dont use their hands the way humans do! It's just a bit uncommon for them. They dont use their hands for gestures– they use their beak or facial expressions more. If anything, they fidget more with their feet by tapping their claws and stepping back and forth.

13. Any foods they avoid for reasons other than taste?

sorry in advance if this is obvious to people who are not me, but i decided to reread solar lunacy and i noticed a couple of funky lil details that point to sun absolutely also having murdery-virus thoughts like moon towards y/n. he’s just better at hiding/controlling them ig.  anyway, this is the little set of lines (near the end of chapter 7) that got me thonkin.

‘restraint isn’t effortless’ oh really? mr. sun sir, are you implying that you, not just moon, also are a bit murdery? now, you could interpret this as ‘sun is speaking on moon’s behalf’, and ye that makes since, & that’s how i read this scene at first too. buuuuuuuuut, maybe sun is a bit murdery. so i decided to look around a bit and oh hey look at this (chapter 9 crumb)

‘Fingers curl in and out like a habit’ hmmmmmm, i’m sure that sun is thinking about stress balls or something, nothing to worry about

man’s really out here pretending to choke y/n huh. how rude. but also, another note here, it says he’s doing it ‘like a habit’, which probably means he’s done this multiple times.  now, those two are definitely the most concrete bits i found, but i had another (relatively baseless) thought. so, if flexing robot hands is definitely dangerous, maybe fidgeting robot hands is also alarming. It could be that any repetitive hand motion is the dca’s way of dealing with intrusive violent virus thoughts. And lemme tell you, sun’s hands do an awful lot of fidgeting when he angy. examples include, this middle of chapter 8 bit (Sticker scratching)

Also, wanna call out the ‘maybe it’s not just the requirement to be quiet that’s making him jitter’ line, which, i dunno about you, but to me seems to imply that maybe it’s the funky sneky murder virus causing the hand fidgets Anyway, another fidgety bit from chapter 6 (Spinning the pen)
