WOW, okay, you guys REALLY like Sealed God Eclipse. Cool cool cool. Totally not screeching into a pillow over all the positive attention, no siree!
Anyway, I’ve been sort of scribbling down ideas for the AU, so here, have some more of the pretty snake-birb!
I haven’t nailed down all the important info yet, like you know, plot besides “Eclipse invades personal space, Y/N gets flustered” lol. This is probably gonna be in development for a LONG time, especially since I have a bunch of other ideas I might get distracted by. But I've nailed down a few ideas!
For one, I made Eclipse a god of wind (and maybe also of knowledge but jury’s still out on that one.) It suits him. Wind is chaotic. It can be a calm, cool breeze one minute, and then become a cyclone and bulldoze through towns the next. And you can’t really stand against it. You might be able to predict which way it will blow, after a time, and even take advantage of it, but you can’t control it or block it. Eclipse isn't really something Y/N can fight, or even predict at first, so they have to learn to go with the flow.
It’s also gonna be important for some backstory elements I’m working on, mainly Eclipse’s sealing - why it happened, how his imprisonment affected him, etc. Oh, and shenanigan potential. And maybe some warlocky badassery for Y/N depending on how the plot goes, who knows?
Also, thank you to the one commenter who suggested Y/N looking into Eclipse's legends for their motivation for being on the expedition that ends up finding him in the first place! I'm still figuring out details (just like with everything else) but I'll definitely be using that!
Aaaaand some close-ups to top this all off. Just in case haha...
We're starting to spread out in the lab more now. Let's see how that works
words under cut
Solar isn’t sure what to make of everybody. Moon is even more quiet than he is, even speaking very rarely and only when addressed. He’s also extremely impish when given a chance. He sneaks up on people and either whispers ‘boo’ right next to their ear area or grabs them.
To be fair, Moon never did that to him while he was working. He only did it when Solar was zoning out or just chilling in place. And only if Moon wasn’t occupied with the Boss. Hehe, boss.
The Boss was fun. They were very literal, and logical, which Solar appreciated, but they were also very caring when it came to him, Sun, and Moon. It had been about three days since he’d been made, and there wasn’t a moment Solar could recall that he’d seen them NOT smiling and trying to make this lab into a more cozy, clean, safe place for all of them. Putting away chemicals, sorting loose ingredients for potions, making sure he and the other two had enough food, all these little efforts that spoke volumes.
But limitations had started being found, and it was making all of them nervous. Solar could do anything with mechanics, wiring, pipes, physical machines in general. But he wasn’t so good with computers. He could use them, yeah, but not beyond what Boss could do themselves. Sun was smart, but he absolutely couldn’t work a computer more than to maybe send an e-mail. Moon refused to even touch them.
Then there was the problem of what to do when the food ran out. So far, Boss had gone to the grocery store, but it made Sun start having a panic attack because they were gone and might not come back. Solar knew the feeling, having his own anxieties about losing people, but it was hard watching the normally happy gummy slime dribble into a miserable puddle and quiver in place. Moon’s helpless look was also enough to make Solar know what ‘heart wrenching’ really meant.
After that, they spent the rest of that day snuggling Sun while Solar and Moon did anything that needed doing. It did make Solar wonder why Sun and Moon slept in the room with Boss and he got his own, but that wasn’t his business to ask. It WAS his business to make sure everything in the bathrooms, kitchen, and the main lab worked perfectly, and he had gotten it done quite quickly. He could spend time alone easily if he could just hear one of the others around. Sun humming or Moon snickering while creeping around, maybe Boss singing. They had a nice voice, and Solar thought they should sing more, but he took the rare concerts gladly.
Today, Moon and Boss went on an expedition to the further rooms off to the west of the main lab. They found a pretty spacious greenhouse, the grow lamps just needing new bulbs and the sparse sunlight from the well camouflaged skylights had kept the plants alive but not thriving.
“Okay.” Boss laid out a paper with a basic drawing of the living area. Solar’s own room had his name written in it, and Sun and Moon and Boss’s room said “nest” on it. Cute. “We’re going to have to make some new friends to deal with everything. Here are the available rooms, and I’ve written a list of roles that need filling.”
At the edge of the paper, a bullet point list had a few jobs written out:
*Tech expert
*Gardener
*Doctor
*Outing partner
Sun asked about that last one, “What’s this mean?”
“Well,” Boss smiled at him and Solar got a feeling there was something brewing between them that he didn’t get quite yet, “If I have one of you guys with me when I go out, they can be my security if something bad happens and help me get heavy things in here if nothing goes wrong.”
Moon pouted, but asked, “Not us? Why?”
“Because you don’t blend in with humans, moonbeam,” ah, that little boop to Moon’s nose was a clue that it wasn’t just Sun that Boss was involved with. “We’d have to make a friend who can mimic the appearance of a human, who knows social cues and can act well so nobody suspects they’re a slime.”
Finally speaking up, Solar pointed to ‘gardener’ and suggested, “Why don’t we start here? If we can get the greenhouse going, we won’t have to buy as much food.”
The others nodded, and Boss grins, “Exactly! And right now, I agree we need that gardener most. I won’t have to go out and get things again for a while, and that’ll be when I make our Mimic friend. The doctor and tech guy can come later.”
Solar feels satisfied that his idea was solid, and he follows the others to the main room.
--
Sun watches as his sweetheart works at the controls, and he slips over next to Moon.
“Brother,” Sun whispers, actually lowering his voice so only his twin could hear. “What do you think of Sunshine, hm?”
Moon’s looks at them, and Sun sees the way Moon’s gel softens, “Love them. Perfect. Why?”
“I think so, too.” Sun grins and holds out his hand, “I think we should date them.”
“What’s date?” Moon looks confused and Sun rolls his eyes.
The machine starts up as their darling is explaining the composition of the new gardener, plant food and a growth potion mixed. “Dating is when two or more people decide to spend a lot of time together to see if they want to become mates.”
“oh. Romantic partners, yes?” Moon tilts his head and Sun nods, satisfying his twin’s question. “Yes. Agree. We romance them.”
“I thought so,” Sun giggles a bit and settles down next to his twin, “We ask them after this.”
Both watched as the tube opened and a curvy feminine shape emerged, head shaped with a poof of frosted soft green gel on top, with the blue of the plant food and green of the growth potion marbled across her body. White glowing eyes opened, and a bright, warm woman’s voice came out, “Look at all of you! It’s wonderful to see you all. My name is Earth, and I’m so excited to be part of this community.”
Eager to meet the new arrival, Sun slipped up, “Hello, Earth! I’m Sun! Welcome! We’re so so so excited to have a girl around. What a happy surprise!”
Moon comes up near him, tilting his head, “Name’s Moon. Soft. Perfect for plants.”
“Oh, yes, of course!” Earth smiles at them, then looks at Solar, “And who are you, friend?”
“Solar,” he waves and smiles as well, “Welcome to the family, Earth. I’ll show you to the greenhouse, since I need to go work on the sprinklers in there. I’m the mechanic. Moon’s security, Sun’s a cleaner. Boss is boss.”
“Don’t call me boss!” whines their cute human, and Sun giggles, “I’m just another person who lives here, honestly. Solar just likes teasing me.”
“I do,” Solar smirks a bit, and Earth laughs softly.
“I see! Well, then I’m happy to have so many friends. I’ll go deal with the garden, and then we can all have a nice meal together.”
Sun groaned softly, “Oh, that’s exactly what I wanted to hear! Go have fun, and we’ll make sure everything is nice for you!”
Moon snickered, “Sun thinks with his stomach. Silly.”
“I do NOT!” The twins then started a slap fight while both grin and laugh.
--
Earth was fascinated with everything in her new home. The way the hallways gleamed in the fluorescent lights from how clean Sun had made them, to the quiet growl of Solar’s voice as he explained what each room along the hall was (mostly storage or basic chemistry labs), to the smell of warm soil that flows over her once the greenhouse door opens. It all makes her feel bubbly with excitement.
“Solar,” she asks as he starts working on the sprinkler system overhead, “Can you explain how everybody relates to each other? I don’t want to step on anybody’s territory, after all.”
“Well,” he grunts as he twists a nut off of a bolt, “Sun and Moon are twin brothers. I’m just their friend at this point. Boss is the one who made us all, so we start off loyal to them, but they’re honestly a great person so it’s easy to keep that. And when a new person gets added, they decide where they stand on their own. So you can be whatever to whoever.”
“That sounds lovely!” Earth happily flows over the rows of tomato, strawberry, and corn plants, leaving healthy leaves and sprouts in her wake, “Does our human friend have anything they prefer to be called?”
“Not Boss, obviously,” he chuckles as he runs his bare finger around a pipe before fitting it back into place, “Sun calls them his Sunshine, Moon prefers Starlight, but they answer to all of them. Find your own way to think of them and they’ll probably like it if it isn’t an insult.”
“That sounds nice, too. Everybody just finding their own endearment for the person we all care about,” she hummed softly, then glared at a strange beetle that was trying to eat the leaves on a zucchini. “ooh, no, you do not get to eat our food, nasty little bug.” She flicked out a tendril from her gel and coated the bug in it, creating a containment bubble around it, “I’ll give these pests to Moon later. He goes up to the surface, right?”
“Yep,” Solar was hanging off the ceiling and cleaning out a clogged sprinkler nozzle, “he goes up there to hunt daily. We don’t have any meat down here and he’s more coded to need it than the rest of us. Part of the security programming from what I can tell.”
“That’s good to know. I also have culinary information so dietary restrictions are vital information.” Earth nodded and made her way along the rows. “I wonder why our friend added that for me?”
“Probably because they’ve literally only made the same kind of pasta with two different sauces every day since I’ve been here?” Looking up (down) at her, Solar adjusts his safety goggles, “Sun told me they’ve got sensory issues are seem scared of the stove, so...maybe they need help with that and thought you’d be good since you can pick the best ingredients.”
Looking up, Earth gasped and bounced a bit, “Really? That’s so adorably sweet of them! I’d be happy to help them get more comfortable in the kitchen with me. No wonder they seemed so relieved when I opened my eyes. It must be so hard to be uncomfortable with something you have to do multiple times a day.”
“Heh, sounds like Boss, yeah.” Solar seemed happy as he worked, and Earth decided Solar was definitely her best friend. When she got to know Sun and Moon more, she’d figure out what they were to her, but having at least one connection figured out was satisfying.
--
I come back into the bedroom after getting in my pajamas again and Sun and Moon are both sitting and looking at me. I say sitting, but for them it’s more like they’re half melted down into the nest and just their torsos and heads are sticking out.
“What’s up?”
Sun looks at Moon, who looks at him and waves for him to go on. “Ahem, well, Sunshine, Moon and I made a decision to ask you this together, so that we can all three discuss it.”
“Go on?” I have no idea where this is going, but I climb up into the nest and sink into their gel with a sigh of relief. Better than any mattress, I’ll tell you that right now.
“We want…” Moon hesitated, and I know it’s hard for him to speak more than a few words. I wish I was better with the machine so he didn’t have that hang up, for his sake. “We love you. Date?”
My whole face goes warm, and I look up at the two of them for a while before asking, “I’m not saying no, but I want to be sure, are you two just asking because of the loyalty programming?”
“Noooooo,” Moon whines and sinks deeper into himself, wrapping his arms around me. “Just a base. Not enough.”
“Moonie’s right,” Sun copies his twin and nuzzles into my hair, “That programming is meant to just be a base to build on. It stared off as just an employee kind of thing, but you built it with us.” His voice is soft and reassuring, “You insisted on asking our opinions on our new friends, you let us decide for ourselves what to do and who we are to each other.”
“Kind,” Moon murmurs, his face pressed to my stomach. “Sweet to us. Gentle.”
“you treat us like equals, Sunshine,” the brighter twin squeezes my hand with his, “and we both agree that you’re someone we’d like to stay with for a long time. You take care of us, and we take care of you, so it just makes sense we all stay just like this. Wrapped up together and safe.”
I giggle, a little wet in the eyes from happiness and my cheeks hurt from how much I’m smiling. Moon’s making a little bubbly purring noise, and I can’t help squeezing both of them closer, “W-well, if you’re sure, I’d be so happy to be your date, both of you. I’ve never done anything like this, so it’ll be awkward, but I’m happy to learn with you two.”
“Perfect,” Moon hums, and Sun nods so hard his rays smack him in the face. We all laugh, and spend however long it takes to fall asleep cuddled up tight.
--
Earth was becoming more part of the group pretty easily, but I’m not surprised. I had put her personality to be open and caring, but capable. Her random quirks were “girly girl” and “loves geese” which I found super weird, but being fond of birds myself, I shrugged it off. If she liked the juggalo birds, more power to her.
Solar tended to just exist quietly next to her, and she was calling him bestie a week in. Her bubbly positivity with his thoughtful silence made an endearing combination, and I’m glad they get along because I was a little worried she might overwhelm him.
Sun and Earth titter and share theories about things like two old biddies, which I find hilarious. Sun’s thin wiry figure next to her generous hourglass is a contrast I find pleasant, and her pastel cool colors next to his bright yellow gives a cheery feeling to any room. On the other hand, Moon lurks near her like a particularly protective cat. He puddles in a corner near where Earth and Solar are, and basically follows her around more than Sun and I now.
“Too nice,” he responds when I ask him why he’s doing that. “Keep her safe.”
One time, we’re all in the common room of the living quarters and I’m trying to set up my computer so I can show them a game I have on it, and as we play, Moon’s doing the lurking behind where Earth’s sitting.
I tease, “Lol, Moon, you act like Earth’s your baby sister.”
“Sister!” Sun gasps, and I’m startled as he launches himself against her, looking up at her with his glowing eyes big and wide, “You wanna be our sister, Earth? You got eyes like mine, and blue like Moon, and we like ya a lot, mmhm! Please?”
Moon does his bubble purr, and I giggle, “That’s cute.”
Earth’s gel begins to wobble a bit, but then she hugs Sun and Moon (who she pulled over the back of the couch), “I’d love to! You’re both so nice to me and you take care of me so good! I didn’t know what to call it, but that’s it! We’re siblings!”
Her voice is a little wet and full of emotion, but it’s all positive and the three of them kind of melt together for a bit. I’ve noticed the slimes do this when they’re trying to share thoughts or feelings quickly, so it must be some sort of direct connection between their minds or something when they puddle up like that.
What shocks me more is when Earth proceeds to get out of the ‘huddle puddle’ and bowl me over with her whole body, “AND YOU’RE MY SIBLING IN LAW! AAAH! I’M SO LUCKY!”
That’s the trigger to send Solar guffawing so much he melts into the floor for a bit, unable to hold his shape from how hard he’s laughing.
Gently, I push her off me and smile, “Yeah, I guess so. I’m dating your brothers, so that’d be the term if we do end up fully together.”
“Oops, I overwhelmed you. Sorry, rosie.”
“Rosie?” I ask, and she nods as she backs off.
“Yeah, well, I was thinking of what to call you. And I thought of Bud, but since I’m down in the greenhouse that lead to flower buds, which led to roses, and you’re so pretty so you’re my Rose Bud. Right? And that’s how bud turned into Rosie.”
Touched, I nod and pat her shoulder, “That’s super cute, Earth. I like it.”
“Okay! Good.” She settles down and we finally manage to pull Solar out of his laughing fit so we can go back to the game.
Well, we've got security and we've got janitorial covered...what's next?
words under the cut
Moon let me out eventually when I woke up from my nap, and I find the two of them have cleaned the largest bedroom in the living quarters for us. The bed itself is king sized, and the boys have arranged it as a kind of nest rather than how a human would make a bed.
“Oh, wow, and everything smells so clean,” I look around the room, and Moon huffs.
“Could smell the allergy. No dust. No carpet. Safe for you.”
“He’s right, sunshine,” Sun gestured at the room, which had wooden furniture and was sparsely decorated with only metal and wood objects, “it might not be fun, but we can paint things to be bright and cheerful later. Your health is first!”
I really want to sink into the pile of blankets, but I’m covered in sticky Moon spit. “I need fresh clothes and a shower, but then I’m climbing in there and not moving for several hours.”
“After we tell you what we decided,” Sun said in a chirpy tone.
“What?” I look between them, and Moon grins.
“Twins.”
“Yes, Moon and I decided since we were born on the same day, from the same machine, we’re twins.”
“Also pranks. Fun.” Moon snickered and Sun sighed.
“Ah,” That’s cute. They already had that vibe, and now it’s cemented. “Congrats on being brothers, then. You’re adorable.”
Sun’s cheeks darkened like before and Moon’s lightened to a sky blue, but they both grinned. I giggle and head to the bathroom I can see through a doorway. Taking off my sticky clothes is nice, but then the two of them slide toward the door and I yelp.
“Boys! Stop! What the heck?”
Both slimes stop in place, tilting their heads in opposite directions. Sun is the one who asks, “We’re gonna follow you? Like always?”
“No no no, when someone is going to take a shower or poop or whatever in the bathroom, they do it alone. Out.” I push them both, but they don’t move.
“Slime in the pipes,” Moon says, pouting, but I continue to try and push them.
“Nope. Water. And I wanna be naked alone.”
Sun tilts his head, “Moon and I are always naked. Why do you have to be alone to be naked?”
“Cause it’s embarrassing for humans. We only see each other with clothes on and being naked in front of somebody is only for things like…” I struggle to think of family friendly circumstances, “being operated on and...and saunas. Getting a bath as a kid when your parent has to help. That kinda thing.”
Both of them stare at me, then Moon asks, “So no bath?”
“Not for you two, no. Not unless you get one by yourselves.” I cross my arms and look up at them, very serious about this and probably pink up to my ears.
“Awwwww,” Sun’s rays droop, like the decorations on a melting sundae. “Okay, fine. But as soon as you come out, we’re cuddling.”
“I can accept that if you let me get dressed first.”
“Can do,” Moon leaves, but Sun lingers for a bit trying to convince me with puppy eyes that do nothing. Then he slides away.
It’s a relief that they at least listen to me. And I get in the shower without further incident.
-
Morning was a slow, groggy thing. It takes me waking up three separate times before I actually have the energy to sit up. My whole body is heavy feeling, but that’s probably the dust activating my allergies. Sun is busy outside, I can hear him in the common room of the living quarters tidying or something. Moon meanwhile was curled around me still, utterly asleep with his lure on the end of his ‘hat’ appendage pulsing softly.
I move to get out of the nest on the bed and Moon whines, holding me by the leg, but I shake him off. “I know, Moon. I’m a night owl, too, but we’ve gotta try to make this place more livable if you guys want me to stay here.”
That perked him up, and he yawned, showing lots of those sharp teeth before he got up and brought me with him. “Explore. Find things. I’ll eat them.”
That makes me laugh, and Sun gasps, “You’re both awake! Yay! Oh it’s so LONESOME when you two aren’t up.”
“Sorry, Sunny,” I mumble it, but smile. “But now that the fridge we cleaned out has had time to air out and cool down, I can use it. We’ve done a lot of work in the kitchen, so it’s our best staging area for expeditions.”
Shaking his head in agreement so fast his rays clatter, Sun oozes out the door and calls, “I’ll go touch it up and find something good for you to eat!”
Looking up, I ask Moon, “and what are you going to eat, Moon-moon?” I wasn’t sure what he was planning to do.
Moon’s grin was slow and very predatory, “Meat. Go hunt.” He then slithered off, fast and silent.
Welp, that was kind of spooky. At least Sun and I have the kitchen cleared already.
Moon comes back well after breakfast is over for Sun and I (with Sun getting through more of the inedible ingredients that still existed). Moon slips in and gurgles happily, nudging me with his head and wrapping himself around the chair I’m sitting in at one of the many tables while Sun has the other side. There is a large opaque ball in his center, just like Sun’s, and I realize his hunt was successful.
“Oh, what did you catch, Moon?” I try to analyze the orb inside him but it’s useless.
“Pig. Didn’t belong. Mine now.” He sounds pleased with himself, and I’m pretty happy with it, too.
“Good job, then. Invasive species like feral hogs are really damaging. Now if only you could do that with all the stupid feral mimosa trees around here.” Petting Moon’s lure, I see Sun pout, and I look at him. “You did good, too, Sun. You’re helping me stay allergy free as much as possible with the cleaning.”
“I’m glad you noticed,” He giggles and sticks what has to be his tongue out at Moon, who does the same back at him. “Anyway, what are we gonna do today? Explore? Make new friends?”
Moon peeked over the table and said gently, “Clean. More safe spaces. Main room probably.”
“That’s a good suggestion, but I like Sun’s idea, too.” I gesture at the refrigerators and the oven. “There are a lot of machines in here, and that includes the one I used to make you two. I wouldn’t have any idea how to start fixing anything, so maybe making a mechanic is a good idea.”
“Yes. Machine’s important.” Moon agrees easily, wrapping around me a bit, “Maybe made of grease? Slip around easier.”
“Okay, but we have to make him smell good. Or at least not bad,” I say, worried.
“Um...how would we do that?” Sun asks, and Moon shrugs. Getting up, I motion for them to follow me. Maybe there’s filter options on the slime maker that we can use.
-
The boys are looking over my shoulder as I play with the menus on the touch screen for the slime machine.
I go to the ‘base substance’ menu and look around the edges of the screen, but then I look at the keyboard and notice a ‘menu’ button above the number pad. Pressing it opens a list and I can navigate it with the filters I wanted.
“Ooh, computers are really complicated,” Sun mumbles, “I’m glad you’re the one using it and not me.”
Moon hums in agreement. I find it funny since they’re both very smart, but I am by far not a computer wizard. Still, it’s nice to be praised for my troubleshooting.
The options for machine-safe oils are numerous, but when I sort by smell (least to most intense) the one at the top of the list is mineral oil. “Oh? That’s surprising.”
I press that as the base of choice, and then decide it should be colored a bit. Soft brown and orange are appealing, and it will make our new friend stand out against the shiny silver metal. When I put in that I want this slime to be versed in mechanics, electric work, and plumbing, I get a warning that the fluid he’s made of will be flammable and I should make sure to scent him further to increase the likelihood of knowing if his residue is around. I pick maple syrup as the scent to add since that’s nice, and Sun whines.
“If he smells like syrup, I’ll be hungry all the time.”
“Are now though,” Moon teases, and the two of them start to chase each other around the room.
I chuckle, putting in that he should have rays like Sun, but soft, made out of his gel instead of crystallized anything. I like how expressive Sun’s are, since it makes it easier to read his face since it’s all slime. Same with Moon’s “hat” lure.
Calling back to the boys, I ask, “Could you find some goggles and gloves for our new friend? That way he won’t be as likely to get hurt while working.”
That got their attention away from their sibling squabble, and the two went dashing off into corners and closets as I finish up the personality part. I want him to be more serious, I think. Kind of quiet maybe? Gentle unless provoked, then terrifying. That way he can defend himself if he runs into whatever the thing that made the scientists leave was. Loyal to those kind to him, that’s a must, and loves his work. I don’t want him to feel put upon while he’s busy. And...maybe a little gruff? His voice can be, at least.
I go for random traits, since that’s been fun, and it ends up with “mostly monotone” and “scared of being alone”. Aww...poor guy. Well, he won’t be alone with us, so that’s not a problem. I press the button and watch in fascination as the clear mineral oil dribbles into the chamber, swirls of orange and brown being injected from the top as a soft scent of maple wafts out. It ends up with his body being mostly two tone, half and half like a two flavor lollipop. It’s rather cute, and once the chamber opens, so do the golden lights in his eyes.
Sun and Moon arrive with several options for both gloves and goggles, so I give him a set of thick rubber tipped gloves, and a big safety goggle that’s tinted for welding.
“Mngh...are those for me?” he asks, and his voice is a little gravelly but soft, and he takes the offered gloves and goggles without a fuss. “Thanks. So...uh...introductions? I’m Solar.”
“Hi, Solar!” Sun chirps, whole body wiggling like a jello mold, “I’m Sun, and this is my twin, Moon! I clean things up around here and he does security work. We’re so happy to meet you!”
Moon looks Solar over, then huffs and slinks back to Sun and I, “Safe enough. No flames.”
“Yeah, I don’t exactly want to get set on fire either,” Solar mumbles, but looks at me, “and you’re the one who made us, right?”
“Yeah, I am.” I smile and he just nods.
“Okay then.” He sighs and stretches, his body pulling tight both up and down and side to side before relaxing, “What’s the first order of business, boss?”
“Oh, we’re gonna be friends, not...yeah, I’m not in charge. This is a democracy,” I wave off the title, but I see a glimmer in his eyes that tells me he’s going to tease me by calling me boss. “But could you check over the machine that made you? It’s the most vital part of this whole place and I want to be sure it’s working. I’d be devastated if we were in the middle of a new friend being born and it broke down or something went horribly wrong.”
Solar nodded, looking at the mechanics and such, then said, “Give me a few hours. I’ll have this thing clean and perfect before you know it.”
“Thank you, Solar,” I’m relieved, and I can see the soft peach color rising in his cheeks. “You can have Moon stay with you, or he can go with us to clean out a bedroom for you.”
“Oh. Cool...uh...yeah, I guess he can stay with me. Might be nice to have another set of eyes and hands out here.” He looked at Moon, who swirled himself into a little pile beside the only open-able panel I could see on the machine.
“I watch. You work.”
“You got it, bud,” Solar nodded, then he looked around, “Ah, any tool box around here?”
“I got one!” Sun rushed out of the room and came back with a red tool box, full of screwdrivers, wrenches, and other doodads I had no name for. “Here ya go, Solar!”
“Thanks,” He smiles, and I was amused to hear that, while his voice was pretty even and didn’t modulate much, you could still easily read his emotion in it. “I’ll get to it. Any room I can rest in is good for me, so don’t fuss about anything special.”
Oh he has no idea how much that phrase triggered me to do EVERYTHING to make his room special for him. I just wave and pull Sun along with me, “Okie dokie. You boys have a nice time and we’ll come check on you when we’re done.”
As soon as we’re out of earshot, I whisper to Sun, “We’re going to make Solar’s room comfortable and perfect for him, right?”
“Oh absolutely.” Sun’s grin was almost as sneaky as Moon’s could get, “New friends get a nice room that’s just for them, mmhm. Especially if they’re so blasé about it.”
Giggling, we head back to the living quarters and pick a nice room that already has a desk in it to clean out and decorate just for Solar. Tool board, all the extra gloves, some steel-toe boots we find, any guides to the machines we can find, all sorts of things that we think would make Solar feel appreciated. Sun makes the bed perfectly and I ask how mine ended up a nest.
“Well,” Sun shrugged, “Moonie wanted a nest, and said it would be the most cozy so we could all snuggle up together. I think he’s right, so I settled with just putting on the fitted sheet and letting him bundle the rest up.”
“And why the sheet getting spared?” I was genuinely curious at this point.
A shudder went through the entirety of his gel, and Sun turned with a horrified look, rays fully extended to the point I could see their bases, “And let all of us suffer loose elastic AND mattress texture?! Never!”

A/N:
It's been a while for this update. Thank you all for waiting so patiently for it! And I hope that it was worth the wait for all of you.
this is an all hands on deck situation right now. the house seems to have made a bipartisan agreement, and is set to be voted into law as soon as next week. again, there's no exact date, but it's an estimate on when it'll happen.
this will be voted by the house representatives. this is a floor vote. if passed, it'll go to senate.
for the next two weeks, call your house representatives. make them oppose this as soon as possible.
…..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment
likes charge reblogs cast, folks, this is the good luck post
the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.
It should 100% be illegal for companies to make you give them your payment information when you sign up for a free trial version of their product. It is not necessary and there is no good fucking reason for them to do it. It’s blatantly just so they can steal forgetful customers’ money.

Figured it was about time to add my own contributions to the Y/N x DCA tag so uh - here, have a quetzalcoatl-styled Sealed God Eclipse!!
Not sure if I'll actually end up developing a full-on AU with the guy or not, BUT i CAN share what I've actually come up with so far, which boils down to:
Y/N = archeologist equivalent in a fantasy world, and Eclipse is a god who was sealed away in some temple that their team accidentally stumbles across.
Y/N accidentally UNSEALS Eclipse somehow, which results in basically their entire team dying and Y/N, not wanting to die too, starts sucking up to the (probably unstable) god in a desperate attempt to not get their heart torn out or something.
This somehow results in Eclipse latching onto them as HIS mortal. No, they don't get a choice in the matter. They're his now, that's just how it works. And since they're his, that means that they WILL help him return to full strength, right?
So now Y/N has been claimed by a possessive, clingy god (REALLY possessive and REALLY clingy) that they have to help rebuild a following in this new day and age or get smote or something.
Also said god takes a liiiiiiitle too much pleasure in manhandling them. Can gods get touch-starved? They're pretty sure this one is because he just can't keep his hands off them.
Which is a problem for both the obvious reasons and because Y/N categorically hates that they get flustered every time he manhandles them. (Look, he's very pretty, and they're only human, okay? It's totally reasonable!)
If I do end up developing more of this idea I'll tag the posts as "Sealed God AU" or something, idk
ALSO, close-up below because I like his pretty face and it'd be a shame if all the detail got lost by Tumblr. Enjoy!
LISTEN UP AGAIN KIDS
STOP REBLOGGING THIS FUCKING GARBAGE POST. IT IS 100% FUCKING BULLSHIT AND CAN AND MOST DEFINITELY WILL LITERALLY KILL.
DO YOU NOT SEE WARNING LABELS THAT SAY “DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING”? THEY AREN’T FUCKING AROUND. YOU CAN FUCKING BURN THEIR ESOPHAGUS BY CAUSING VOMITING, CAUSE CHOKING, DROWNING, OR MAKE IT WORSE!
AGAIN DO NOT FORCE ANYTHING DOWN ANYONE’S THROAT. THEY. CAN. DROWN.
IF SOMEONE IS LOSING CONCIOUSNESS ALL THE CHIT CHAT IN THE WORLD WILL NOT PREVENT IT AT THAT POINT THEY ARE IN SERIOUS DANGER.
“Buuut i don’t wanna take them to the hospital!!!”
WELL SUNSHINE GLAD YOU’D RATHER HAVE A DEAD FRIEND THAN A LIVING ONE BUT YOU’RE IN LUCK
CALL FUCKING POISON CONTROL. THEY ARE NOT THE COPS. THEY WILL HELP YOU.
AND IF THEY SAY GO TO THE FUCKING HOSPITAL YOU GO TO THE FUCKING HOSPITAL. NO EXCUSES. 0. NONE.
I have seen this shit cross my dash SO MANY TIMES so PLEASE fucking reblog this and prevent some well meaning idiot from accidentally killing someone they love!
Poison control may advise diluting the toxin somehow like with water or milk, otherwise do not give them something to drink and take the empty pill bottle/ blister pack with you to the hospital.
Me: Hmmm... what about an AU where Sun and Moon are inquisitors trying to get their hands at Y/N who they assume is a witch/witcher, but they get end up cursed by falling into a fairy pond and have to share one body with a more grotesque form now. *trying to draw a design for that*
Finished product after the thrid attempt: ??? *some kind of knight Eclipse*
Me: That... doesn't quite fit my first idea... Oh, well, guess I have to make up another story for this design! (Which you can find after the sketches.)
1 second away from killing the very oblivious intruder:
One talk later? Absolutely smitten by said intruder and pledging eternal protection:
Rough story idea:
Y/N is a newbie adventurer and mage. They honestly, aren't really well cut out for the job. And while traveling a storm was brewing. So they took shelter at a nearby abandoned-looking castle to wait it out.
As they passed by the rows of old armors in the hallway, they did not notice how the helmet of one spun slowly around, two gleaming lights inside of it following their tracks.
Eclipse, a vessel, created a long, long time ago, still protects the castle, even if his old masters are long dead the magic that brought him into existence is still running strong.
It was lucky of Y/N that they didn't tried to snoop around searching for loot or else their fate had taken a rather swift end.
Instead, Eclipse had simply kept an eye on them, watching what this not-so-strong-looking intruder was doing to figure out if they were a thief or not.
Just to find that this stranger seemed rather helpless, the way they were stumbling around the castle, flinching at the smallest noises and quivering at the roars of thunder, while trying to drown the rumbling out by singing some quiet, trembling tunes to themself...
It was oddly endearing to witness.
Something Eclipse never had felt before for a human.
And for the first time... he failed to fulfill his duty.

I woke this this morning to this comment left on one of my fics
I was half asleep so it took me a bit to realise that this is a scammer.
It seems that scammers have learn from their obvious tells in the past.
Previously, scammers would leave vague comments from guest accounts before asking if you’d like to commission some art from them.
Now, it seems like they are starting to create AO3 accounts and are feeding either fic or tags into an AI to pump out a summary before offering the commission.
Here’s the scammer’s profile. Note the description (which seems to be the same for every account posting these comments) and the recent join date.
I received another comment this evening for the exact same scam, just a different profile.
This is a reminder! These are scams preying on the desire to have your fic illustrated and will not deliver! They will either take your money and run or give you something AI generated and will not accept any refunds!
Remember to block and report these comments so the abuse team can stop these scammers in their tracks!
