“No need for the aggressive ness dude,” Erick laughed. “Just wanted to put a face to the name.” Erick commented. 

“Okay, and now you have it.” Mike flashed a cold smile before turning back to the sheet music he was reading.

Do you think this place looks like the place that just pours swiss miss mix into hot water?” Ellie questioned with a raise of her eyebrows.

“You’d be surprised at how many places will do that to you and charge you eight bucks.” Mike shrugged. He just wanted good coco.

“Yes?” Gunnar answered hesitantly, wondering if he was supposed to know who this person was. “I’m sorry, who are you?”

“Michael Young, we went to school together. I thought I recognized you.” Mike hadn’t really expected Gunnar to recognize him, half the time they were in school together Mike was Yvonne and was just a depressed loner. 

“Oh yeah, one of them,” Katie replied. “Thanks I guess. I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not.” Katie nodded at Michael’s question. “Yeah, I do, I’m a Violin Performance major. One of many. Do you go here? I didn’t think anyone else from Ilvermorny went here.”

“Your sister’s hot, it was a compliment.” Mike laughed. His arms crossed over his chest, whatever was on his mind now gone. “Ooh, I didn’t even know they offered that as a major.” He nodded. “And to answer your question: no, I’m too broke to go here. Not smart enough for scholarships, too busy with music to get a job. My buddy does, though. We meet up once a week to jam.”

“Hey did you happen to get that sheet music I emailed to you? I know I’m supposed to be a millennial but this no-maj tech completely baffles me.”

“Uh, yeah. I looked it over.” Mike looked up briefly from his phone. He was used to the no-maj technology. “How does it baffle you? You just click a button and bang.” He pressed a button, sending a dumb meme to her email. “You transfer data.”

Katie nodded. “Actually, yeah, I went to a boarding school up in the mountains. I did know someone named Quinn in school too. She was in my class. Not entirely sure if it would’ve been your sister though.”

Mike looked at her for a moment more, knowing her face from somewhere. And then finally, it hit him. “You’re Jess Davenport’s sister. You look exactly like her.” He smiled upon figuring it out. “You go to school here, Bearclaw?”

“I see, thanks,” she said, starting to pick some things up herself. She looked at him again, maybe this time a little too long. “Do I know you?” she questioned. “You just look very familiar, but I’m not entirely sure from where.” She stuffed some of her music back into the folder it fell out of, before checking on her violin, though she was sure it was okay, the hard case protecting her fragile instrument.

“I dunno, you go to school in Massachusetts?” He asked as he checked his phone. After making sure it wasn’t broken, he shoved it in his pocket. “You look like you’re about my sister’s age, her name is Quinn.”

Quinn sighed. “Just trying something out. I mean, you have that whole drummer boy look about you, Paisley has this kind of girly girl look about her. I literally have no constant of fashion. I just throw on what I think is cute and call it a day. Maybe that’s my look.” She shrugged slightly.

“And it works. Just go with what you usually do instead of wearing some frilly Paisley dress.”

“Tony Stark is literally a human super computer. Steve Rogers was a science experiment with very positive results. At least Thor’s god-status is natural.”

“Still, Captain America has a good beard. I wish mine looked like that.”

“You mean beat you fair and square?” asked Jess, looking at her cards, wondering why she was even playing when her heart just wasn’t in it.

“Oh no, you definitely cheated.” Mike teased. “There’s no way you could’ve won.”

Quinn looked down at herself. “One of Paisley’s dresses,” she replied. “Totally not me, is it?”

“You look ridiculous.” Mike laughed. “It’s very Paisley. Not so much you.”

Katie was on her phone texting one of her sisters. She wasn’t paying attention when she ran into the older boy on the Julliard Campus, making her drop everything in her arms. He looked very familiar, but she didn’t think anyone from Ilvermorny went here, at least not while she was going. “Oh God, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to run into you, I wasn’t paying attention.”

Mike had just finished his lesson, and he was listening to the piece he was working on in his headphones. He drummed his hands on his thighs as he walked, totally in his own space. He didn’t even notice Kate walking towards him on the path. And then his headphones went flying out of his ears as his phone fell to the floor. “Hey, watch it.” Mike snapped, bending down to pick up his phone. He grabbed some of her things while he was down there, shoving them up at her. “You dropped your music.”

“Uhhh… no? Well, I mean, not intentionally. And is it really an insult if it’s true?”

“His shield is way cooler than any of the other Avengers owers. Except maybe Thor, but he’s a god so it doesn’t count.”
