Brilliant/Fascinating films that maybe you haven’t seen that I don’t feel got enough hype. To be clear. I am not saying every film here is the best movie ever made. Just that the lack of hype these movies have recieved is waaay too low compared to their quality. *I have a standing caveat on all movies made prior to 2010. There will be naturally lower production value. Can’t be helped.*
Always being added to.
Children of Men
Stranger Than Fiction
Safety Not Guaranteed
Galaxy Quest (The most fun unless you yawn at sci-fi in general.)
The Losers (Fun. Gritty fun.)
Payback
Road to Perdition
Book of Eli
Rocky Balboa (the one where he’s old)
Jeepers Creepers 1(Very good if you haven’t seen a trailer thank God the less you know going in the more amazing it is)
Moon
Revolver
Sphere (Real real old now)*

Zack and Miri make a ____
A.I. Artificial Intelligence - 2001
Bicentenial Man
The invention of lying - 2009
Night of the creeps - 1986 (Most movies have an expiration date. I shy far from the old stuff. Most of the old stuff doesn’t hold up for myriad reasons like the story was repackaged better already, or production value. Best you have an idea what you’re going into with this one though. Honestly; if you were to read the synopsis it certainly sounds unwatchable, but so does star wars if you think about it. There’s one phone call monologue that I will probably remember forever. A brief moment of genuine horror in an otherwise “seemingly” generic 80’s horror romp. I know I wrote quite the little assessment for this entry in particular, but I felt it necessary. All signs say to skip this flick. The poster. The synopsis. The cast. The year it came out. But it’s good. It’s fun, and weird.)*
Bright - netflix
Gone Baby Gone 2007
Knight and Day (Very fun)
Gattaca 1997 (Inspires. Makes you think. Depending on what level of introspection you typically engage in.)
The Town - 2010 (People who saw this were the most receptive to Ben Affleck being cast as Batman.)
30 Days of Night 2007
Funny People 2009
Love Reign Over Me - Don Cheadle/Adam Sandler….. Just trust me.
Bone Tomahawk (If you’d like to see a thrilling, charming and engaging western just watch it until the characters find themselves in a dark cave, and then turn it off. TURN IT OFF. WATCH NO FURTHER. EVER. If you want to be shocked, and horrified beyond what you thought possible then watch the movie in full.)
Devil 2010 - (Multiple people in an elevator. One is very very dangerous. We don’t know which one.)
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Charming AF)
………….😐….. The Woodsman 2004 (Kevin Bacon acquired, and will forever retain my respect as a serious, and very brave actor due to this role. No one wants to be standing in a several mile radius of the kind of character he portrayed here. Kinda shocked the movie exists. That it got made.)
The Killing Room 2009 (This situation is weird….. I’m not even referencing the movie plot. It’s like this movie was added to a banned list….. You won’t be able to find it….. Ahem…..Yarrrr 👀. This flick will land with people whose ears perk up when they hear trigger words like “Agent Orange, jet fuel steel beams, MK Ultra.”)
The long kiss goodnight 1996 (Badass lady.)*
