“Well, shit. Guess I have to rethink my approach to life as a nutritionist.” 

“Good thing you play quodpot for a living then, right?” she teased.

“Hot chocolate sounds great, yeah.” He agreed easily, never one to pass up on a quieter atmosphere. “It’s been good, I managed to get a spot with the Wizengamot, actually. Not on it, not yet, but maybe soon.”

“I mean that’s definitely better than me,” Elle replied. “I’m just a barista. I have to make some money for schooling.”

“Can I get a hot coco? And please not the basic Swiss Miss shit.”

“Do you think this place looks like the place that just pours swiss miss mix into hot water?” Ellie questioned with a raise of her eyebrows.

“Oh. That actually sounds really good,” Kennedy chuckled. “I’d like to do that instead, please.”

“Okay, one Soy Caramel Mocha comin’ up.”

“We wouldn’t get sunburnt,” Charlie answered. “We’re a lot like pigs.”

“I’ll remember that the next time I’m trapped in the desert.”

“Are you saying people wouldn’t listen to this face?” Gray asked, gesturing to himself. 

“I know I wouldn’t,” she teased with a small smirk.

“That’s very lucky for me,” Kennedy nodded. “Out of curiosity, what’s your favorite drink here? I want to try something new, but I’m always too nervous, you know?”

“I really like the Soy Caramel Mocha,” she replied. “But I usually put an extra espresso shot in mine.”

“So it’s probably a good thing my career of choice panned out, otherwise you might be making fun of me for it,” Graham shook his head in feigned disappointment. At her question, he shrugged, “Healthy eating is important and if I could help people with that then why not? Maybe that could be what I do next off season. Be a Quodpot player, and then a nutritionist on the side. Get into sports nutrition or something crazy specific like that,” he chuckled.

“Yeah, but I feel like people don’t actually listen to nutritionists if you’re meant to go to one by force,” Elle replied.

“Nevermind,” Charlie grumbled. He looked at his shoes. “It’s just– if you don’t make sure your pigs have plenty of mud, they’ll get sunburnt. The mud is a natural sunscreen basically.”

“Pigs can get sunburn? Really? I didn’t know animals could get sunburn,” she replied. “What if we covered ourselves in mud. Not that I would, but just wondering.”

“Hi,” Kennedy smiled as she approached the counter. “Woah, that’s a lot of pressure I wasn’t expecting,” she chuckled softly. “Um… well, to be completely honest, I came in for a hot cocoa. Nothing too exciting, sorry.”

“Well lucky for you, I’m amazing at hot chocolate,” she replied.

“Why are you laughing? It’s not funny,” as he spoke, Gray chuckled in spite of himself. “I’d probably be a nutritionist. That’s a real job.”

“Yeah, but I can’t imagine you as a nutritionist,” she replied. “What made you want to be that?”

“Ah, Ms. Winters. Yes, my exams were over this morning.” He nodded, and amiable smile on his face. “I do like to venture into the real world every now and then.”

“And by real world, you mean magical town in the middle of no where?” Elliot replied with a raise of her eyebrows. 

Major hissed slightly as the hot chocolate spilled on his shirt, but it wasn’t the worst thing ever. “It’s fine.” He answered simply. “Your drink spilled though, would you like me to get you another one?”

With a simple spell and a wave of her wand, she cleaned off the spilled hot chocolate from his shirt. “Oh no, no, it was my fault, if I had you get me another hot chocolate, that would be horrible. Besides I still have some left, it didn’t all get on your shirt. Are you sure you’re alright?”

“Oh, I’m just full of surprises.” He grinned, shrugging lightly. “It’s not my usual scene though, I’ll give you that much.”

“How have you been?” she questioned. “Care to grab a hot chocolate with me? We can catch up.”
