WHAT WOULD BE THEIR TWITTER NAME? WHAT SORTS OF TWEETS WOULD THEY TWEET?

She likes to keep things simple and straight to the point. If she could use just her name on all of her social platforms, she would. However, since that’s impossible, she simply opts for @ yoobkim on twitter. For the most part, she tweets whatever she’s doing, what’s on her mind, or sometimes “indirects” towards her coworkers. On occassion, she chimes in with current trends that her friends are posting like #nationalpetday! or random test results out of curiosity. Other than that, she isn’t an active user. Her main use for it is simply to keep contact with others.

WHAT’S THEIR FAVORITE GENRE OF MOVIES? OF MUSIC?

Despite being a film major, Yoobin doesn’t watch movies very much. She simply doesn’t have time. But! When she does, she often opts for movies that make it to the sundance. Actually, she used to go to that film festival often. She finds that some of the best movies that make it there, never make it to the big screen. In fact, sometimes they’re never seen past that initial screening. That’s probably what she finds so fascinating about it. They arrive, and then they disappear. So…In the end, she doesn’t really have a type of genre she enjoys.

For music, she doesn’t really listen to it much. It sounds odd, but she spends most of her days at work and running around to tend to errands. However, when she’s at home, she needs to have white noise in the background. Something not too exciting, but not something too…Dull. So often times, she listens to what soundcloud identifies as “chill/r&b”. It just helps her focus. When she’s not working though, you can often find her listening to jazz or classical music (she’s basically a grandma).

WHAT’S ON THEIR TOP QUEUE ON NETFLIX?

Ah, she doesn’t really watch movies! So, currently nothing new other than shows she’s watched and finished.

WHAT’S THEIR FAVORITE SCENT? DO THEY SMELL LIKE THAT?

There is nothing Yoobin loves more than the smell of coffee. It is truly an addiction she can’t seem to kick. A cup in the morning, a cup somewhere between 12 to 1 o’clock in the morning. She also loves the smell of wine, another drink that isn’t too forgiving on the teeth but…Thank God for whitening products, right? Another smell she often finds herself attracted to are cigarettes. Aside from her favorite bad habits, the curator enjoys the smell of grass that has just been rained on, fresh laundry, and baked bread.

With her bad habits,  you’d think she’d simply reek of cigarettes and maintain a terrible coffee breath. However, considering she’s grown up surrounded by an assortment of stuck-up snobs, Yoobin can never (currently) be caught smelling like anything other than Bamboo by gucci. Good thing oral and body hygeine exist.

APPLE OR ANDROID?

Apple. Everyone has it, and it’s simply easier to be on the same platform is most people share it.

FAVORITE SEASON? LEAST FAVORITE SEASON?

Winter. It is both her favorite, and least favorite season to deal with. The nights are longer and that means she can spend more time working. She can bundle herself up, drink even more coffee, and enjoy the sight of fresh snow covering the ground. That’s always her favorite part. However, she can’t help but to be reminded of her mothers death. Still, after so many years it’s a touchy subject for her. Afterall, it’s difficult to lose somebody so abruptly without any light in their relationship. 

ARE THEY A BOTTOM, TOP OR VERSATILE?

Yoobin could be described as versatile.. Really, it just depends. The person, the situation, how she’s feeling…So many things, really. However, she does enjoy being submissive. She has such a hard exterior, so, I think in order to find balance, she enjoys the submissive part of her sex life. But, two submissives don’t work and so, Yoobin will gladly pick up that role.

DESCRIBE THEIR MORNING ROUTINE. DO THEY WAKE UP EARLY OR SLEEP IN? DO THEY PRESS THE SNOOZE BUTTON A BUNCH OF TIMES OR DO THEY IMMEDIATELY GET UP?

This girl is truly an early bird. Honestly, I don’t know how she does it considering that she’s always working until the ass crack of dawn! But, she likes to be into work early while there isn’t much ruckus there. However, on the weekends or on a day off, she likes to spoil herself and sleep in a few hours more…Or the whole day if she doesn’t have plans.

        Often times more than not, Yoobin was upset. Whether it was the stress of work or old memories, it was hard to see her in a pleasant mood (if she wasn’t distracted by other things of course). Her fingers tapped idly on her thigh, lips curved downward into a frown at the topic of family. A topic that made her soft, filled with memories of hate and sadness at once. It was a feeling that bubbled in her, making her unpleasant. She just wondered: if sometimes getting over this would make her a more tolerable person. The curator was an unfortunate cause, really. A lonely childhood filled with attention but lacked the love — a feeling of neglect. Sure, she had all the luxuries of life growing up, but the absence of a parent...Her parents hurt her development.

          She always took so much precaution when it came to her emotions. It was such a vulnerable part that she wasn’t willing to show. So used to the hardened exterior and getting straight to the point, the curator never quite enjoyed when people prodded her with questions. Their worry and curiosity suddenly overstepping the boundary in their relationship. Despite the inherently worried nature of her friends, she was good at making nothing of it. Brushing it off and masking things with a smile before chugging right along. That was simply how things worked for her. It was better not to think about it than to dwell on it. At least that’s what Yoobin thought.

          A cigarette rested on her lips, unlit and familiar. The wind brings a slight chill with it, her toes curling slightly in her shoes as she digs for a lighter. “I’m fine.” The older woman mutters, running her thumb along the switch of the lighter.  1...2...3...Fire.

           Inhaling her favorite toxins, she then exhales the rest with a sigh. It was though, when any sort of emotion was displayed from Yoobin, it was monumental. As if the world had suddenly shifted so everything lost its place. Sure, it was easy to convey happiness or excitement. Those were easy and were never hidden. Sure, there was something more. But, there was always something more with Yoobin. It seemed Dahye would never get used to it just being a spectator in her life. “Nothing’s wrong, you know that right? Just let me be.” Her stare is hard and her face is tense. Getting up, she puts out the barely lit cigarette and turns to leave.

          As per usual, it was hard to find Yoobin without some sort of caffeinated drink in her hand. It was almost odd to see her drink anything else that wasn’t either coffee or alcohol. Nonetheless, it had been a normal day at the gallery and Yoobin had planned for a long night of work back home. However, such a thing couldn’t be possible without a hot cup of coffee to start off the night. Looking down at her watch for a brief second, she found herself hurrying her step to slip past the doors into the warm establishment. The smell of baked goods and coffee beans lingered in the air as her heels clicked against the floor, echoing throughout the still busy shop. Taking a moment to look at the menu hanging on the wall, it isn’t long before the curator opts for a cup of black coffee. Bitter, simple, and contains enough energy to get her through at least half the night.

         Stepping forward, the curator doesn’t hesitate to add some of the remaining baked items onto her list of snacks for the night. Ready to pay, the curator hands off her card to the woman on the other side of the counter. The act is mindless, done with ease and not much concern. However, as the card is being handed back and her coffee is being made, a wave of shock hits her. With widened eyes and furrowed brows, she takes a second glance at the woman. Yoojin? She thinks to herself. But it can’t be possible. People don’t just suddenly come back and reappear in one’s life without thought.  the two of them were good friends. Close, but not too close. It was just the way they functioned. But, one day she was gone and that was the last she’d seen of her. Though things ended on pleasant terms, Yoobin didn’t do so well with losing people; people who she actually cared about (and that didn’t come often for her).

          “Um, excuse me...” She begins, “This may seem like an odd request, but whenever you can spare some time, can I talk to you?” It’s a genuine question asked with a small hint of urgency. 

—- mina had seen signs of these kind of things too many times. many idols were doing it as well, hiding the heaviness on their shoulder’s and rarely showing their own feelings as they lived underneath the beliefs that they needed to live with their dedication to their job and be some kind of superhuman. mina didn’t know how they did that, as she often found herself crying whenver going to bed when she needed to relive some of the stress she was carrying inside of her. however, she had the tendency of never being the one to force people to tell her what was going on, rather than that she would prefer to give them a warm hand and make sure that they were feeling okay. in the end that was the thing that mattered. 

she wasn’t one to get close to people easily. these days people had a difficult time to understand that she sometimes couldn’t always reach out to people. her schedules were often filling out most of her days and her mind. but that didn’t mean that she didn’t care nor think of the friends she had, she was often very worried about their well-being, and the easiest way for the japanese idol to check up on them was via their sns and social media. whenever she saw a lack of activity within it, she would feel a stone form inside of her stomach and worry about everything and nothing that they mentioned over it. 

her eyes watched the woman’s silouette for a moment before she made herself known that she had managed to get inside the room. she had recieved a key from yoobin not too long before their comeback with their song ‘cheer up’, mina remembered how she had recieved how much the elder had told mina that it was ‘just to show up whenever she needed someone to talk to’ and despite this not being her to need someone to talk to but merely check up on someone she cared for. she was still getting in there for a good thing.

mina shook way the worried tone of the elder, smiling softly towards her before she tipped her head to the side to give a longer thought to what she was talking about, sucking on her own bottom plush as she thought some more.  ❝ are you okay? ❞

       For a brief moment, she wondered why Mina had appeared so suddenly. Then it came upon her. Though Yoobin wasn’t the type to express her feelings or let her guard down, she was always a good listener. Whether it was genuine or not, that was up for debate. Nonetheless, she had often been a shoulder to lean on, and this was what she assumed Mina showed up for. “What do you mean? I always worry about my dongsaengs.” Her features softened and a smile appeared on the curators face because of the girl. Even though she could have confided in her members with ease, for some reason she’d come to the older woman. It wasn’t as though being trusted was a rare occurrence, it didn’t happen often. It felt nice.  However, the smile didn’t last for too long. The curators face fell, a look of intense confusion on her face as she looked back at the young idol. Stuffing the pack of cigarettes in her back pocket, Yoobin tilted her head as well to ponder for a bit. She wasn’t okay, but she wasn’t doing terribly either. The only reason she’d been out in the first place was because she had a lot on her mind. "You know, things could always be better. But, I was just clearing my mind...So I guess I’m doing fine.”

          Reminded of her cigarette, she taps the excess ash from the tip. Lifting the stick to her lips, she inhales deeply before tossing it aside and putting it out with her foot. Exhaling the heavy smoke, the curator licks her lips and turns to the girl. “Sorry, I don’t mean to smoke in front of you.” She says as if it were taboo. But, it was a way to distract herself from the things running through her mind. For some reason, it put her at ease when she was busy inhaling and exhaling some carcinogen. “So, tell me why you’re here again.” The tan woman raises an eyebrow, her foot now tapping in a rhythmic manner. She knew that the girl was in a rising girl group and without even the slightest hesitation, Yoobin knew that the girls were on a tight schedule. In fact, she was surprised that their run-in is lasting as long as it is.

     Apparently humor didn’t fix everything. It was Haenam’s go-to though when he was feeling uncomfortable. Or anything less than content. A confrontation with one of the bakery’s employees was the cause of that front this time around. Sure, things went well when he approached Yoobin. As well as they could’ve at least. She was receptive. Open to listening.

     But the woman behind the counter hadn’t been and had the idea that Haenam was some kind of stalker now. Still. And the incident was almost 2 months ago. It was coincidence he showed up at the shop but the stranger didn’t think so. He couldn’t blame her but it didn’t make it easier to deal with. At least this time around Yoobin stepped in so he didn’t have to awkwardly chuckle his way away from the counter. Luckily? He wouldn’t use that word. Not when she had the expression she had now. At least he wouldn’t have to ask repeatedly what was wrong.

     “Oh…” Any chipper jokes were off the table. It wasn’t a time to joke around. “You don’t have to be sorry.” Haenam knew part of what she said had to do with her mother. The whole reason they even spoke in the first place. He figured it was that parental figure she was indirectly defending. Making sure that her spokesperson was unharmed. Her link. He knew their friendship wasn’t based entirely on that but it was a side note. A factor. Whether it was realized or not. He didn’t blame her. He just didn’t expect this response either.

     He leaned in a little over the table so he could keep his voice low. “I think there’s worse things you can do than defending someone. I should thank you actually? She was really hostile.” He appreciated it even though he joked about it afterwards. 

     “We could talk somewhere else.” Haenam didn’t know if he should bring up the current energy or not. Someone was lingering and it didn’t take much to figure out who. Of course  she’d be around with Yoobin feeling the way she was. The woman wasn’t a full presence but more of a feeling. Like someone walking up behind you as you sat, and leaning down to hug you. Resting lightly against your shoulders. Smiling. Comfortable and protective. He wondered if Yoobin picked up on it at all. He wanted to ask. But not directly. “How are you feeling…?”

          “Well, depending on the person, that is the worse thing you can do.” She tried to make light of the situation now with his reassurance, but she was still feeling a bit bad. Especially now after she had practically scolded him. Shaking her head in rejection, she took a deep breath before finally revealing a smile. It was better to stay and relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, and continue talking. After all, she had mentioned that she didn’t really know him. Now, it seemed like a good chance to finally do that.  However, before she could start drilling him with a series of questions, he had started first. How was she feeling? How was she feeling? Admittedly, she had some sort of gut feeling to protect him. But, she didn’t know why. "Actually, I’m not sure.” With eyebrows knitted together once more, the curator took a moment to sort out her feelings. It was an unsettling feeling. That much she knew. But, Haenam knew...At least she thought he knew what most people didn’t.

          Shrugging her uneasy feelings away, her eyes brighten up and her tense features loosen into something more pleasant. “Onto more pressing things, what is your favorite food?” It was a simple question — childish even — but, the first step for getting to know somebody is knowing what they like. “For starters, I enjoy kimbap a lot. I’m not sure why, but I used to eat it a lot growing up. Sort of like...A comfort food.” Yoobin ponders for a bit, lips pursed in thought before continuing, “But my absolute favorite are the ones at the convenience stores because they have the triangle ones. They always have an assortment of fillings. I guess I like the variety.”
