The question rattled every ounce of Gem; it was one she would like to avoid at all times if she possibly could. But as the other woman stood before her, looking down at her, she realized there was no way to escape it. The singer swallowed, taking in a shallow breath as a million thoughts raced to her mind. Of course she was scared. The path of self-destruction she was stuck on was sure to catch up to her one day, and when it did everything she worked for would be snatched from her. It would be as if none of it ever existed, but as terrified as she was, it couldn’t keep her from ruining herself. Her desire to self destruct before anyone could destroy her lingered over her with every breath she took. Gem could only keep it all a secret for so long, and even now it was showing enough for the slender woman to see. Just who else saw it too? Gemma was far passed being scared, now she was just horrified for herself. But she just couldn’t stop. She pressed her lips together in a tight line, fighting back the emotions she felt inside. All she could do was grab the glass in front of her, and chug down the alcoholic content inside of it before slamming the glass down on the table between the two of them. “How about another round?” The singer asked blankly, raising her hand to catch the attention of the waiter on the opposite side of the room. She wasn’t ready to face herself today–but then again, she probably never would be.
