If you're a new writer and you're asking yourself "is this too personal, is this too much, will people think this is weird" that feeling is the exact location of your actual voice. The stuff that makes you want to close the laptop is the stuff nobody else could write. The safe version is always worse. Always. before my egg cracked, i had noticed that trans people were often pro-accessibility and up-to-date on the needs of disabled people, but i hadn’t seen any inherent connection between the two (other than the obvious minority-looking-out-for-other-minority thing). but now that i’m trans and medically transitioning, and i have to constantly repeat myself while talking to doctors and nurses, and explain things about my own anatomy to medical staff who should already know this, and having every single problem i might have blamed on my “condition” so nothing i say is taken seriously, all of the sudden i have a little sneak peak into the life of someone who has to deal with this all the time. like shit bro, being disabled probably sucks ass, someone should do something about this

I think I figured it out, the key to a successful life is to do what you want all the time and if you don’t do it then accept that you’re not doing it because that’s the choice you actually want to make. Just own your decisions and if you say you’re going to do something, do it. It sounds really simple, but almost nobody does it and when you meet people who are true to their word like that, you can feel the confidence and self-respect radiating off of them.

what the emo kids of today don’t realize is that in the 2000s real emos didn’t call themselves emo because calling yourself emo meant you were a poser. if someone saw you wearing a black studded belt and hot topic mcr wristbands and asked you were emo you were supposed to say “i don’t choose labels……..” and then they’d know you were a true emo

the american public education system doesn’t teach you this‼️
