Hey y’all. I have good news!
I finally launched my revolutionary/political clothing line!
Behind the concept is the struggle for independence for my country, Puerto Rico. As some of you may know, Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico 11 months ago and I broke my 7 year anonymity to ask for your help contacting my grandmother who lives in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. After several weeks, we were able to contact her and help her buy a generator, food, and gas to survive while the islands recovers.
This summer I volunteered with an organization in Puerto Rico and helped repair roofs and homes.
During my volunteering experience I realized that we have such a long way to go and repairing the infrastructure is not even half the battle. I decided to dedicate my life to fighting the colonization of Puerto Rico but the honest truth is that I can hardly pay my bills.
That is when I decided to make Tienda Boriken, a clothing line with my (and my best friend Lisette’s) designs. We are both artists working full time and going to school full time. Making clothes with our political art allows us to express ourselves artistically while also paying bills and tuition.
And the best part is that we are donating 10% of all profits.
After volunteering in Puerto Rico, I realized that the organizations working on the island are severely underfunded. This clothing line allows us to fund various organizations. For August and September, we are donating to All Hands & Hearts!
For the months of October and November, you get to vote who we fund!
