House Texturing Progress (WIP)
After setting up the material system, I began applying the first layer of textures to the exterior of the house. At this stage, my focus is on establishing the overall weathered appearance before adding finer environmental details.
The primary objective is to create a building that reflects long-term exposure to the elements. Rather than using a clean, uniform material, I am introducing variation through faded paint, chipped surfaces, and subtle ageing. These imperfections help the house feel naturally worn instead of artificially damaged.
The custom RGB masking workflow is already proving useful for controlling where paint deterioration appears on the wooden siding. This allows damaged areas to be placed intentionally around exposed edges and high-wear locations rather than being distributed randomly.
The remaining weathering layers, including moss accumulation and water leakage stains, have not yet been completed. These effects will be added once the masking system is fully functional. They will help break up large uniform surfaces and introduce additional environmental variation across the exterior.
At the end of today's session, the foundational texturing workflow is in place, and the house materials are beginning to establish the visual direction. The next stage will focus on completing the remaining RGB channels, refining the weathering effects, and adding smaller environmental details to improve realism and strengthen the overall presentation.
