Progressing the House Model with Architectural Details
Today I continued developing the house model in Blender by adding the primary doors and windows to the structure. With the main proportions now established, the project is gradually moving beyond the initial blockout stage and into the refinement phase, where architectural details become increasingly important.
The addition of the doors and windows has helped define the character of the building and provides a clearer understanding of its overall scale. These elements also improve the visual readability of the model by breaking up the larger wall surfaces and making the structure appear more complete.
At this stage, I focused on ensuring that the placement and proportions of these architectural features were consistent with the overall design. Rather than immediately introducing high levels of detail, I prioritised establishing the correct forms and layout so that later refinements can be added without requiring significant structural changes.
With the primary architectural components now in place, the next phase of production will concentrate on modelling the smaller details that contribute to the realism of the building. These include window frames, trims, gutters, roof fascia, support beams, vents, exterior fixtures, and other secondary elements that help transform the house from a basic structural model into a believable game-ready asset.
Developing the model in stages has allowed me to maintain an organised workflow while reducing the risk of making extensive revisions later in production. By completing the larger forms first and gradually increasing the level of detail, I can ensure that each modelling decision supports the overall quality of the final environment.
