Roof Texturing Progress
Today I applied the same RGB mask workflow that I developed for the house siding to the roof material. Reusing this system allows me to maintain a consistent texturing process across different parts of the environment while keeping each weathering effect independently editable.
For the roof, I focused on creating an aged appearance by introducing paint wear and colour variation to break up the clean surface. The shader setup enables me to paint damage directly onto the model instead of relying on a single texture, giving greater artistic control over where the material has deteriorated. This makes it easier to tell a visual story through the environment.
The roof material is still a work in progress. I plan to continue refining the moss distribution around areas that would naturally retain moisture and later introduce water stains to represent years of exposure to rain and environmental conditions. Once these layers are complete, the roof will better match the overall weathered look of the house and contribute to a more cohesive environment.
