Do you have any thoughts on the recent trend on TikTok where White women share what hairstyles they like on Black women?
I feel like every few times a month y’all tell me a racist TikTok trend that’s going on, and I just feel so relieved that I don’t have TikTok
So I went to see what this was about
Taylor Cassidy’s video here seems to have gotten down most of my thoughts:
I will never care for the opinion of the same people who forced us to hide our hair out of jealousy, the same people that feel obligated to touch our hair w/o our consent, the same people that would appropriate these hairstyles after mocking it onto Black women
And from the looks of it, they are unsurprisingly bias in the kind of hair textures they like. It’s almost like in their heads they think, “I like this, cuz I can mimic it”
“But they are being nice about it, can’t you give them a pat on the back” the video does address that, it feels performative just to get Black people’s approval…when no one asked you this question
And of course the trend has now devolved to white women mocking Black hairstyles they don’t approve of and Black women overall. Not surprising, but like again, why should we trust y’all come into this in good faith when y’all consistently do this
Did you know that the 3D mode in Photoshop can be used for ease of texturing?
I've been using it for a long time
I still re-enter the Bodyshop 10 times to see the preview
I prefer Substance Painter 😎

I knew little about this option and used it only once. But recently I decided to study it and it turned out that it is very convenient: you can immediately see the result of your work without using BS or a game. At the same time, unlike specialized software, I do not need to learn a new interface, and all the usual brushes and functions are available
literally just learnt how to overlay texture (kinda) so I went back to one of my older ULTRAKILL pieces to try it out

my take on the new abrams
huge thanks to @hoxdolum for porting the abrams models to blender. they also helped with shrinkwrapping the old mesh to the new face and giving the new face the texture paintover i did
i dont have any more words for why i did this. ive exhausted all my thoughts in my mile long feedback forum post under the abrams thread 🫠
to put it simply: i really like the old abrams face a little too much but i also like the new abrams so i decided to combine some elements
this was a fun "little" project. while my paintover isnt fully polished, im very satisfied with the results. i havent done any 3d personal projects in years and this is what i decided to get into 😭
More progress....
