This year has been really #bodybuilding year, personally. Bite-sized #yogatips - #malasana or #garlandpose can be #challenging especially for those with tight #calves, #glutes or #quads. This #yogapose requires really deep flexion of the hips & knees. Tip: place a block or roll up your mat or blanket to place under your heels if your heels lift off the ground. Be very #mindful of twinges in knees or ankles when in this pose. Teaching Seniors Yoga - My Experience and Thoughts
The past three years, I have been teaching a 77-year old ex-air force man some yoga. Uncle (let’s call him that coz I do) is a man who is active, not just physically but also mentally. He teaches himself (with online help) some Sanskrit and some Indian mathematics. He also taught himself yoga. This alarmed his daughter who got me to go in to teach him personally. Wise move!
