Vrikshasana (Tree Pose)
Vrikshasana (Tree Pose): Steps, Benefits & Path to Becoming a Yoga Instructor
Vrikshasana, commonly known as Tree Pose, is one of the most important standing balance postures in yoga. It represents stability, focus, and growth—just like a tree rooted firmly in the ground while reaching upward with strength and calmness.
Beyond physical balance, this pose reflects the deeper discipline of yoga practice, which often becomes the first step for those exploring how to become a yoga instructor and build a professional path in yoga education.
What is Vrikshasana (Tree Pose)?
Vrikshasana is a balancing yoga posture where the body stands on one leg while the other foot rests on the inner thigh or calf of the standing leg. The hands are joined in a prayer position or raised overhead, creating a stable and aligned body structure.
This asana improves coordination between body and mind and is widely practiced in beginner yoga routines.
How to Do Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) Step-by-Step
01. Stand in a Stable Position
Start by standing straight on a yoga mat.
Keep feet together or hip-width apart
Distribute weight evenly
Relax shoulders and keep spine straight
02. Shift Body Weight
Prepare your balance foundation.
Shift weight onto your left leg
Engage core muscles gently
Fix your gaze on a stable point
03. Place Foot on Inner Leg
Build the tree structure.
Bend your right knee
Place right foot on inner thigh or calf (avoid knee joint)
Maintain steady balance
04. Form Hand Position and Hold
Complete the posture.
Join palms in front of chest or raise them upward
Keep breathing slow and steady

Made my first (very rough) unity animation! Syana making a tree pose! I'm not sure if the Palm Point meditative yoga poses will be used, but i think i'll use animations like this for extra scenes. Palm points are locations of imbalance that Syana can meditate on with an asana, a yogic pose corresponding to the chakra. This tree pose in the Root realm may be used to channel root energy into a seed to begin growth. A mountain pose may be used to build new walls or platforms, clear debris, or raise pillars for support. Some poses associated with other chakras may not be natural to just get into in-game, like the pigeon pose for the sacral chakra. I'm also not sure yet it would do in sacral. maybe opening valves for flow, adding fluid to a reservoir, something with fluid or flow or the channels themselves.
