so can we start hunting down white liberals now or what
The full picture is even more heart breaking after you open the uncropped version. Just a heads-up, it's rough
“The Roman Catholic Parish in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan was just grafitted.”
Nah let’s post it. Let’s feel it. Don’t look away.
I notice alot of my followers on here skipping these posts just to mess with my lgbt ones, suspiciously the white popular ones.
Heres a not so friendly reminder, as an lgbt metis person, i dont give a single fuck what your blog is themed or if this is too painful for you to look at. Reblog this post. Reblog this post with the sources of the 751 children who were found.
Your compliance and silence as well as the compliance and silence of your ancestors is what allowed these schools to open and kill first nations children. The children of MY people.
Dont follow me if you cant reblog this post or the one with sources to your political blog or your most popular blog. Add trigger warnings if you must but if your political blog is only focused on the harms you personally face like being lgbt then you need to see some bigger pictures and stop being afraid of angering your racist mutural or actually saying some shit about racism. If you can reblog some antifa graphics or add blm to your bio to be a surface level ally, you can reblog some sources on the genocide first nations people faced and still face today.
They were CHILDREN.
They were murdered in cold blood.
I’d like to add this photo I took last night in Victoria of the statue of Captain Cook. Though I myself am not indigenous, I 100% agree that these murderers, kidnappers and rapists shouldn’t have huge statues and plaques that decorate them and say how “great” they were.
Here’s another photo of the legislative assembly from yesterday. Later on there were more items, candles and signs at the memorial, as well as a big poster with 1505 painted on it but I didn’t get a picture
People need to see this. Not just quickly glance at the photos and keep on scrolling. They need to see this.
Reblog this or just stop following me
I had seen the first picture of the church, but not the second.
I went to a “Cancel Canada Day” event and burst into tears - not because I was surprised to learn of the unmarked graves (survivors told us they were there. Our government pushed it aside, and we let them), but because seeing all the people gathered in mourning drove it home: They. Were. Children.
This is my country’s legacy - and it’s not history. The last schools closed during my lifetime. My Father went to school with students who lived at the local residential school, after it was changed to a boarding house (read: holding centre) for indigenous youth who went to local schools.
They were all children, injured, abused, and killed in my country’s attempt to erase them. I want the world to see this and hold the state accountable to *active* reconciliation> I mean we could at least truly adopt UNDRIP in action instead of words for god’s sake.
here you can read an article about a survivor of the church and some of the things he experienced to help put into perspective how awful and just how recent it was
this is the memorial at the vancouver art gallery. 215+ pairs of children’s shoes (as well as stuffed toys and flowers) cover the steps…
One of the little joys of taking the bus is getting to know my cohort of commuters. If I’m basically running on time there’s a mom with two close in age daughters who are at an age where they enjoy being helpful and agreeable as it’s very grown up of them.
And when I am running late there’s a different mom with twin toddlers whose hair is as red as their mutual passion for sitting on the preferred bench spot- which seems to change but which they are both in agreement on, often resulting in loud protest that I wanted that sit from whichever one is relegated to the lesser other seat.
There’s a family with one kid just past stroller sized and one just barely still stroller sized who also take my train, and on different days of the week I know if it’s mom or dad taking them before I see them because it sounds different when dad lets the bigger kid stand on a back of stroller shelf and ride standing up.
There are people I only see when I’m running early (naturally today being a day I planned on early I am going to be late for mysterious brain reasons) and I wonder if they see me and know something about their own timing in relation to where ever they are going.
There are certain drivers who appreciate it and light up when I say good morning, so I try to always say it, but don’t linger for acknowledgment because we all have places to be. I tend to use my cane more in the later parts of the day, and I have had a driver recognize me and ask if I was okay, and while I wasn’t paying enough attention to remember which specific person (there are a few dudes driving my route who are close in age/looks) that was, that he asked has stuck with me for months.
Saw a dude with a Dipiglio labubu hanging from his bag. Did he make it? Who knows!

I think part of the reason I have so readily and fervently adopted Luluka as my newest blorbo is that she’s got big outer senshi energy.
This is probably going to be long so here’s a cut to save your dash (and for anyone who isn’t watching the show as it comes out and wants to avoid even a whiff of spoilers- though this is mostly character/design analysis/rambling)
I think this godsforsaken NAS is coming together
this is just to say / i have eaten the final hard old gummy / that you surely forgot about / i am unrepentant / but as an eating experience it was lacking
Cat’s poem:

Squint

more rub ear more more more you near

I just finished magia record and uh. I’m not sure what I take away from it but I think I get why fans of the game were disappointed despite not having played it myself.
That last season (?) felt like it speed ran through some pretty emotional beats.
At least tomorrow is Precure day!
drink water
bad pain night snowballed into bad insonmia night
Having a corporeal form feckin blows
Hopefully I will somehow magically fit twice as much rest into half so much sleep
tired but can’t sleep, cold and sweaty, guts all a rumble, bones screaming. Worst of all:
I miss my mom.

Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
Let's talk about reblog notes.
We rolled out a significant change to how notes work on reblogs, and the reaction has been strong. We're not going to pretend otherwise.
First things first: We're reversing the change. Your feedback in comments, emails, and especially reblogs, made clear that the rollout created problems we need to address before moving forward. We also should have communicated this differently from the start, and we didn't.
We still believe there's a better version of how reblogs can work. One that gives every voice in a chain the credit it deserves. But we want to get there with you.
In the coming days we'll share more on how we plan to do that, including ways to work directly with some of you on this and future changes before they ship.
Keep an eye on @staff for updates to come soon.
I’m still confused as to what problem staff thought this was solving that it would ever be worth gutting a core functionality of what makes Tumblr itself, not just Worse Twitter.
Credit to commenters exists- it’s their handle right there above their words. Even if the post is seen as a third generation screenshot, I can go back to Tumblr and find the person who made that funny comment.
If you want to let individual users see how many likes/further reblogs came from theirs, there’s no reason that has to create a mangled branching system which deprives users of the conversations and creativity which the reblog system has enabled. Just make it a per-user labs toggle folks can opt into if the gotta know exactly how many of their mutuals support their terrible puns.
If you’re trying to address when an OP is flooded with notes because of something someone downthread said, make it possible to toggle off notifications for a specific post without having to toggle them off universally.
Respectfully, if you really want this to be effective damage control, let this be a wake up call to stop vibe coding (or whatever asinine corporate process led to this change) and actually work on things that will improve the user experience and make paying for a premium tumblr experience something better than a shit sandwich with 50% less shit. Talk to users before you make huge changes and let those changes be in response to the conversation, not the other way around.
