They know that the Frieren they are currently traveling isn't only from a future but from a future where she at least outlived Himmel and Heiter. Until now, they have known her as someone who considers their existence a blink in her infinite lifespan (and while I believe they knew Frieren cared for them, more than she realized it herself, she was still pretty cold).

And now, they have the confirmation that they had a lasting impact on her.

Frieren refuses to say anything about the future for fear of changing it but she can't help but to say this to Heiter and Eisen.

Just the way she is smiling is the proof that she isn't the same person they have been traveling with. She looks proud of them.

Heiter and Eisen realize it.

And when Himmel asks: "What about me?"

The music, the sound design, the animation, the composition. This is so clearly a work of love and it shows!! I am eternally grateful for how much work and love was put into this adaption. If you are not watching Frieren this season, you are missing out on one of the best fantasy anime we have gotten in recent years!
